Episode 5 of "Finding Her Edge" begins with Brayden and Adriana taking to the ice for their performance. Despite their exceptional performance, the judges award them a lower score. It seems the ice skating federation doesn't take kindly to skaters airing their dirty laundry in public.
On the other hand, Riley and Freddie's beautiful performance earns them an entry to the World Championship. Brayden doesn't take the loss well. He lashes out, and Adriana blames her family for talking to the press. After an intense meltdown, he walks out. He runs into Will, who just found out about #Braydriana. In his anger, Brayden insists that he is done with the Russo Rink and storms off.
Will returns to the changing rooms, and Adriana lashes out at him. She accuses him of ruining her chances by insisting on doing the press interview. She also brings up how he convinced her to lose Freddie as a partner. She ends her impassioned speech by saying their mom wouldn't be proud of how he is running the rink into bankruptcy.
Later, Camille comforts Will and suggests that he try to be more of a dad than a coach. She reassures him that he is trying his best and Sara would be proud. The Voltage owner gloats and tries to recruit Camille, but she turns him down. On the other hand, Charles promises to consider sponsoring the Russo rink.
After returning home, Will finds Adriana crying at the rink and comforts her. Freddie arrives to practice and comforts her, reminding her of how resilient she has been. Riley also arrives and cheers Adriana on.
Meanwhile, Elise, who was at the house to watch the qualifiers with Maria, leaves. Will tries to convince her to move back in and attend Charles's sponsorship gala, but she tells him that she will consider it.
While checking the mail, Adriana discovers a final notice letter informing her that they are about to lose their house. She confronts Will, but he lies and claims that everything is under control. Despite the impending doom, he still believes they will overcome and invites her to the sponsorship gala, where he needs the sponsors to see them as a united front.
At the sponsorship gala, Elise also shows up and hangs out with Maria. Maria confronts Elise about her role in the scathing magazine article and demands that she come clean. Brayden suddenly appears and tries to make amends with Adriana, who refuses to give him another chance. However, he insists, and Freddie intervenes, leading to an escalation of tensions. Thankfully, Charles' arrival with a brand marketing president from a workout gear company, Erica, de-escalates the situation. Erica is extremely interested in #Braydriana and wants to work with them. Brayden uses this opportunity to act like he and Adriana are cool.
Elsewhere at the party, Will puts Sabrina in her place when she complains about what Maria did at Michael's party. Later, Elise casually informs Adriana that she was the source who ruined the magazine article, using self-pity as an excuse for her behavior. Adriana shares that the article ruined her chance to save the rink and her career. Elise insists that she was hurt and felt her dad was favoring Adriana after her injury. As they talk, Maria joins, and the sisters make up again, bonding over their hatred of the winning team that took first place. However, news breaks that the team has been disqualified due to a positive doping result. Charles officially announces that Brayden and Adriana will be going to the world championship and urges the brands to support their dream. The good news softens Adriana's heart towards Brayden, who promises to never walk out on her again. At the same time, Riley and Freddie mentally prepare themselves to go against #Bradriana.
Adriana suggests that they start a fake relationship to get more sponsors interested in their brand. She makes up the rules for the fake dating, insisting that they can't tell anyone but keeping Camille and Will in the loop. Later, Adriana and Brayden meet their role models, who encourage them to trust each other. Riley cheers Adriana on and warns her that the messy media will pit them against each other. However, they won't let that happen. Meanwhile, Brayden speaks with Elise and kills any hope of a future romantic relationship between them, hitting Elise hard. Conversely, seeing Adriana so close to Brayden gets to Freddie, who joins Elise outside. As they talk, he reassures her that things will work out. Elise misunderstands his kindness and kisses him. Instead of pulling away, Freddie leans in for a deeper kiss. Riley and Adriana catch a glimpse of the two kissing.
