Meanwhile, at HQ, Varda asks Orso to follow him. He noticed his competence during the operation when he was the one who shot Blanche. Varda likes him during their discussion as they agree that loyalty doesn't matter, but competence does. Varda chooses him to join the legion.

Elsewhere, at Selma's hideout, they try to figure out how to make Leon talk. Selma suggests using truth serum. She updates the team on her meeting with Carny, their biggest enemy, and insists on tagging along despite the high likelihood of Carny killing her during the meeting. Selma is still willing to take that chance since they need an army to take down the Damocles, and the freelancers would join her without Carny.

Later, Leon takes a liking to Lyna, so she takes him home to Amytis. Meanwhile, Tossar confronts Elis, blaming him for not alerting them to the Damocles operation at the Imperial. He tries to threaten him with losing his job to make him give up his informant, but Elis doesn't budge. Later, he ropes in Iris to spy on Elis by threatening to destroy her career and report everything to him.

Elsewhere, Orso shows up at Amytis's apartment looking for Lyna. He tells her about the failed operation at the Imperial and asks about her whereabouts then. Lyna lies that she accompanied her mother to a physiotherapy session. Orso hears movement from the bedroom and wants to investigate. Lyna secretly points a gun at his head, ready to shoot in case he finds Leon. The dog walks into the room, and Orso leaves.

In a subsequent scene, Lyna joins Selma for their meeting with Carny, unaware that the encounter is merely a spectacle designed to humiliate her. Carny's resentment stems from the fact that Selma had previously paralyzed him. The meeting takes place in an amusement park, where Carny has amassed his gang to confront Selma. He demands her to kneel and plead for her to join his resistance, using Lyna's life as leverage to coerce her. Reluctantly, Selma agrees to become his ally, and her first assignment is to attack a Damocles van—a mission aimed at rescuing "The Brain," Carny's cousin and a legendary figure in the criminal underworld of Paris. The Brain had been Carny's partner until he was captured by Damocles.

As Lyna hands over a glass with Leon's fingerprints for forensics to Elis, he inquires about Selma's plan, but she remains tight-lipped. They share a moment of understanding, and Elis reminds Lyna that it's not her duty to protect him. Selma and her team devise an intricate plan to rescue The Brain, relying on a modified car belonging to her father and Lyna's grandfather. Their strategy involves flipping the van using the modified car, followed by Niko and Simon breaking down the door to extract The Brain.

Despite the smooth execution of their plan, there's a slight setback: the police receive a tip about the shootout, prompting Elis and Iris to arrive at the scene. Iris's suspicion is piqued when she sees Lyna in the modified car, yet Elis refrains from shooting her. Lyna and Selma successfully deliver The Brain to Carny, who orders Selma to kill him.

Lyna then meets with Elis again, revealing Selma's plan to build a resistance movement. Elis warns that such a plan would likely anger his superiors. Just then, Niko appears, having discovered Lyna's earpiece during his cleaning of the van earlier and following her since then. As the episode concludes, Elis reaches for his gun, and a gunshot echoes through the air.
