Episode 3 of "Genie, Make a Wish" picks up with Iblis and Ka-young standing by, their eyes scanning the surroundings, eager to see whom fate will thrust into their path. As they embark on their journey, Iblis begins to narrate his tale of exile from heaven, recounting how he was cast out for his refusal to bow before mere humans. His voice carries a hint of mischief as he expresses his anticipation for finally corrupting Ka-young.

The first human to cross their path is the weary Im-seon, the diligent lady from the store who had been chastised in the previous episode. Im-seon, with a tired yet determined look, assures them she'll swing by the mechanic shop over the weekend for an oil change for her ailing car.
Next, they encounter Bu-gyeong, an old schoolmate of Ka-young's. Bu-gyeong works at the bank and is responsible for managing Ka-young's account. Their brief exchange is tinged with nostalgia and a hint of professionalism.
Then, a canine companion makes its appearance, barking incessantly at Ka-young, who retorts with a grumble about how dogs always seem to have it out for her.
The fourth person they meet is Sang-tae, whose presence is fleeting but notable. And finally, they come across Yeong-hyeon, the charismatic YouTuber who is happily married to Da-jin.
After collecting the names of these five individuals, Iblis issues a stern warning to Ka-young, emphasizing his malevolent nature as a genie capable of unleashing chaos upon the world. Yet, Ka-young remains unfazed, her confidence unshaken.
The scene then shifts to Ka-young awakening from a dream, where she envisions a version of herself laughing joyously, surrounded by a sea of gold.
The following morning, Sade frets over the potential consequences if Ka-young continues to make selfless wishes. Iblis, realizing the looming threat to his wager, devises a plan. He dispatches Sade to work under Ka-young at the mechanic shop, while he himself decides to steer clear of her for the time being.
The scheme crumbles to dust as Ka-young swiftly discerns that Iblis is the one who dispatched Sade. Iblis, too, finds it an arduous task to elude Ka-young's watchful eyes. Following this string of failures, Iblis resolves to alter his strategy and delve into the enigma of why Ka-young's past incarnation opted for humans over him. Embarking on a temporal odyssey, he seeks out Ka-young in her myriad lifetimes. His journey is fraught with peril; he is shot in one existence and meets a gruesome end by decapitation in the Joseon era. Yet, another attempt ends in vain, prompting him to return to the present and confront Ka-young directly. Naturally, Ka-young remains tight-lipped, her curiosity piqued instead by when Iblis will commence fulfilling the five wishes.
Iblis elucidates that they must bide their time until the lamp materializes before their intended target, a phenomenon that occurs solely when desires reach their zenith. Ka-young, eager for details, inquires about the transformations wrought by each wish. Iblis introduces her to a quill that inscribes only the veritable truth, its words enduring regardless of subsequent alterations. He then whisks her away to Eljllael's edifice, urging her to swiftly pluck a feather from Eljllael's wings. In a daring move, he casts her from the rooftop, banking on Eljllael's intervention to catch her. Ka-young seizes the opportunity, snatches a feather, and flees.
It transpires that Ejllael is none other than Iblis's brother, though their ideologies diverge sharply on how to interact with humanity. Ejllael harbors a disdain for Iblis and has been frequenting his lamp in the desert, burying it under layers of sand. Seeking to vex his sibling, Iblis wreaks havoc on Ejllael's newly constructed building.
Meanwhile, Ka-young experiments with the quill feather to ascertain its authenticity. She pens a sentiment about being a burden to Pan-geum, but the feather corrects her, revealing that she is, in fact, her grandmother's source of strength. This revelation brings solace to Ka-young's heart.
At the store, the supervisor unleashes another tirade upon Im-seon. Suddenly, the lamp materializes before Im-seon, who seizes the moment to wish for promotion to store manager and supervisor over her current boss. The wish is swiftly granted, leaving everyone astounded as Im-seon ascends to the role of the new supervisor.
Later, Iblis catches up with Ka-young and regales her with the tale of Im-seon's wish, weaving a tapestry of intrigue and transformation around their extraordinary journey.
As their conversation unfolds, Min-ji's name crops up, prompting Iblis to inquire with keen curiosity about her identity. A flashback reveals how Ka-young confronted Min-ji’s bullies, threatening to incinerate them with her fiery resolve. From that day forward, Min-ji and Ka-young forged a bond destined to last a lifetime.
Meanwhile, Ejllael keeps a watchful eye on Ka-young and Iblis. Irem reports to him that Iblis has been siphoning energy from Sade. Elsewhere, as Iblis indulges in playing at the game machines, he encounters a brash man. He summons Sade to teach the man a lesson. The unfortunate soul nearly wet himself in fear when Sade transforms into a mythical beast, cornering him in a dark alley.
Just then, Irem swoops in, appearing in her avian form, and rescues the man. They dash into the forest to escape. It turns out these two have been lifelong friends. In the past, Irem had aided Sade in locating Ka-young’s reincarnation. Their reunion is interrupted by villagers, who are on the hunt for a so-called jaguar that has been terrorizing the community.
The next day, Sade gathers more intelligence on Ka-young and shares it with his boss. He uncovers Ka-young’s daily routine, and Iblis realizes with a sinking heart that Ka-young has been practicing how to make her death appear accidental when the time comes. She has even gone as far as to prepare her own coffin.
Iblis begins to fret that Pan-geum must live a long life to ensure Ka-young remains alive for his vengeful schemes. He starts volunteering to handle all of Pan-geum’s chores. Pan-geum, on the other hand, seizes this opportunity to delve deeper into Iblis’s mysteries. Yet, the more she uncovers, the more perplexed she becomes by his outlandish claims. It all seems so fantastical that she wonders if he might be suffering from a mental illness.
Sade drops by to relay that Ka-young inquired about a dream she had and also asked about the circumstances of her death in a past life. It dawns on Iblis that Ka-young’s sole concern is her demise. He had spent centuries pondering whether Ka-young regretted her decision. Ka-young overhears their discussion and learns that she died after making three righteous wishes. She then proceeds to her doctor’s appointment, does some shopping, with Iblis tagging along.
In the evening, they dine at an opulent restaurant. If you're curious how Ka-young can afford such extravagance, she amassed a fortune in the stock market.
During dinner, Iblis senses Ka-young's yearning to ascend to the tallest building in the vicinity. He extracts a promise from her not to push him off again. They soar to the pinnacle of the skyscraper, where Ka-young confesses her appreciation for having a genie. She finds Iblis to be a stable, and occasionally handy, companion. Her admiration deepens when Iblis orchestrates a city-wide power outage, allowing them to revel in the beauty of the starlit sky.
Ka-young misinterprets the mere mention of the stars as a signal of a romantic interlude. Min-ji had once filled her head with the notion that when a man talks about the stars, it's a veiled desire to steal a kiss. And so, with that thought lingering in her mind, Ka-young impulsively leans in and plants a sudden, unexpected kiss on Iblis, leaving him utterly taken aback.
For a brief moment, Iblis is caught off-guard, his composure momentarily shattered. But like a seasoned performer reclaiming the stage, he swiftly regains his poise and, in a display of confidence, returns the kiss with fervor, as if to demonstrate his prowess as an exceptional kisser.
As the episode draws to a close, the air around them crackles with electricity. They are locked in a passionate embrace, their lips moving in sync, while the town around them flickers back to life, the lights coming on one by one, as if mirroring the fire that has been ignited between them.
