Published: Oct 13 2025

Episode 4 of *Genie, Make a Wish* opens with Iblis nursing a heavy sense of regret over his impromptu kiss with Ka-young. Meanwhile, Ka-young is caught in a whirlwind of longing, yearning for nothing more than to repeat that fleeting moment. Iblis, determined to steer clear of further entanglement, finds himself dodging Ka-young's persistent advances as she scours the city in search of him all day long. Eventually, cornered, he lays down the law: according to his (rather eccentric) rules, a kiss can only occur under the perfect storm of conditions—rain must pour down, alcohol must flow, and the ambiance must be effortlessly relaxed. Ka-young, frustrated by the wait until nature complies with Iblis's whims, is left seething.

Genie, Make a Wish – K-drama Episode 4 1

Meanwhile, Bu-gyeong, ever the envious observer, delves deeper into Ka-young's financial records, fueled by resentment over her boss's preferential treatment of Ka-young and his constant harping on her to curry favor with the favored employee.

Back at home, Iblis's world is turned upside down when he discovers Ka-young's foray into rain-making rituals, a desperate bid to hasten the heavens' cooperation. Alas, for Ka-young, the skies remain stubbornly clear, with rain not forecast until the following week. Her mind, however, is preoccupied with reminiscing about how radiantly beautiful she felt after their kiss.

Seeking solace, Iblis confides in Sade about the ordeal. In a humorous twist, Sade suggests a visit to the dentist, noting it's been quite some time since his last check-up. Iblis takes the advice to heart and drops by Min-ji's dental clinic, only to find himself unable to foot the bill for his treatment. After a brief introduction, Min-ji's eyes widen in recognition, and she promptly dials Ka-young.

Upon hearing the news, Min-ji warns Ka-young to cut ties with Iblis, convinced he's merely after her wealth. Incensed, Ka-young decides to teach Iblis a lesson, landing him a few well-aimed blows. Later, she takes matters a step further, having him arrested for the seemingly trivial offense of drinking in her car with the engine running. Just as chaos threatens to engulf Iblis, Sade swoops in, playing the role of savior and bailing him out from the clutches of the police station.

Later, Iblis makes an appearance at the festival and requests some fireworks to be set up. Now, he sets his sights on corrupting Ka-young, attempting to seduce her with his charms. Meanwhile, at the festival grounds, Pan-geum deliberately avoids Iblis's path. In a twist of fate, a pickpocket targets him, and he loses the hairpin Ka-young had gifted him. Caught in the crossfire of a turf war between two rival pickpocketing gangs, Pan-geum somehow manages to retrieve the precious hairpin.

As evening falls, the sky lights up with a dazzling firework display. However, Iblis's attempt at magic goes awry as he mistakenly uses cursive words in his incantation. In a parallel narrative, Ejllael pays a visit to Ka-young, revealing his true identity as an angel—the angel of death, to be precise. He explains his mission to Ka-young: to slay Iblis once the latter succumbs to the temptation of bowing down to humans. Ejllael urges Ka-young to emerge victorious against Iblis.

Hearing this revelation, Ka-young's anger flares, and she promptly shows Ejllael the door. Ejllael, seething with frustration at the prospect of Iblis's potential triumph, vents his anger on Irem. After the festival festivities wind down, Min-ji and Iblis decide to grab drinks. Min-ji pleads with Iblis to leave Ka-young alone, viewing him as a disruptive force in her friend's life. She vows not to stand idly by as he causes harm. Iblis, finding her threats amusing, bursts into laughter, and Min-ji joins in.

Ka-young, witnessing their exchange, is consumed by jealousy. She offers to drop Min-ji home, leaving Iblis stranded with a hefty restaurant bill he cannot pay. In a desperate move, he turns himself in to the police, only to be bailed out by Ka-young. She mentions Ejllael's visit, prompting Iblis to disclose the ongoing war between him and the angel. Despite the war having concluded years ago, Ejllael remains obsessed. Iblis recounts tales of the conflict and reveals that he still has a few brothers left, one of whom possesses the power to control the rain. Ka-young's curiosity piques, but Iblis, sensing danger, flees the scene to evade her probing questions.

The next day, Ka-young finds herself dealing with a particularly rude customer, but Sade steps in to lend a hand. Meanwhile, Im-seon, intoxicated by her newfound position, summons Iblis and makes her second wish. This time, she yearns to travel back twenty years and secure her position as manager. Iblis grants her wish, transporting her to the past and even paying a visit to a younger Ka-young, thereby altering her memories.

Elsewhere, a peculiar family moves into the grand mansion in town. The boy's father, Jun-u, pays a visit to Ka-young, revealing that they attended college together. That night, rain begins to pour, and Ka-young prepares for her long-anticipated kissing session with Iblis. However, Iblis is nowhere to be found. By the time she locates him, the rain has ceased. As they converse, the dog barks incessantly at Ka-young, unable to decipher her emotions.

Iblis decides the moment has arrived to inquire about the dog's deepest desire. Before doing so, he instructs the canine to caution its companions against barking at Ka-young once more. The mutt, with a glint in its eye, requests to be transformed into a dashing human, akin to the charismatic Daniel Henney. The following day, a sizzling newcomer strides into town, immediately capturing the attention of every lady in sight. Yet, their fascination swiftly fades as he begins to behave in a manner unmistakably canine.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of town, Ejllael extends a helping hand to an elderly man, guiding him gently towards the beyond. In a different corner, Pan-geum stumbles upon Ka-young’s notebook, her heart sinking with concern that Ka-young might be losing her grip on reality. Ka-young, seeking solace, confides in Iblis, wondering if she could stash the notebook away in his lamp for safekeeping.

Iblis, with a welcoming gesture, invites her inside his mystical abode, where he opens up about the profound loneliness that has plagued him. Regrettably, Ka-young remains oblivious to the depth of his feelings. She reveals her determination not to let Ejllael emerge victorious and, in a surprising twist, offers to aid Iblis in his quest once Pan-geum passes away. The pair spends the remainder of the day revamping Iblis’ lamp, their laughter and banter filling the air.

Curious, Ka-young ponders why Im-seon’s wishes seem so confined to the store. She had anticipated grander aspirations from her. Iblis, with a hint of sarcasm, ridicules the essence of human nature, prompting Ka-young to jokingly threaten his life.

As their verbal sparring escalates, Grandma stumbles upon the lamp and gives it a vigorous shake. In a whirlwind of events, Iblis finds himself perched atop Ka-young, their lips inches apart in a near-kiss. Sensing an opportunity, Grandma mistakenly believes rain is falling and urges them to fetch alcohol, convinced it will lead to a true kiss.

On their way out, they discover Pan-geum sobbing in the rain. Heung-rye had dropped by to deliver the somber news of Mr. Kim’s passing. United in grief, they all attend the funeral. Amidst the somber atmosphere, Ka-young overhears her grandmother expressing fears of becoming a burden should she fall ill.

Moved by this revelation, Ka-young summons Iblis once more and makes her second wish. She implores him to restore Pan-geum’s youth, yearning for her grandmother to experience life through her younger eyes.
