Episode 5 of "Genie, Make a Wish" picks up right where we left off, with Ka-young poised to make her second wish. Iblis, ever the manipulator, urges her to reconsider with calculated caution, but Ka-young's resolve is unwavering. She coldly commands Iblis to fulfill her wish within three days, her tone leaving no room for argument.Simultaneously, Iblis finds himself gripped by anxiety over the possibility of losing the bet. In the midst of this turmoil, Ejllael pays a visit to Iblis in his lamp, reproaching him harshly for wreaking havoc on the human world with his ill-conceived wishes. He brands Iblis's tactics as antiquated and obsolete. Sensing an opportunity, Iblis pleads for a chance to demonstrate his worth as a genie in the contemporary era.

Meanwhile, Kim Gae, the canine companion, makes his triumphant return to make his second wish. He yearns for money and ID cards to navigate and survive in the human realm. Iblis, ever obliging, grants him a substantial sum, enough to purchase a new identity and ascend to the status of a boss.
The scene shifts to the ever-dashing Kim Ji-hoon, who now assumes the role of Kim Gae's new chauffeur. (Please excuse us as we indulge in a moment of fangirling!) However, Kim Ji-hoon soon discerns that his new boss harbors some peculiar quirks, such as the tendency to bite and snarl at unsuspecting individuals.
Back at Ejllael's abode, he returns to find that Iblis has pilfered all his money from the safe and wreaked havoc on his cherished painting. In town, Pan-geum saunters along, lost in admiration as she gazes at her reflection in the store windows. Ka-young, attempting to keep pace, soon realizes the futility of her efforts. Determined to assert her authority, she devises new rules for her grandmother, convincing Pan-geum to discard her old phone and feign being a student on a six-month stay. Iblis barges in, demanding dinner, only to be met with a chorus of shouts.
The following morning, Iblis secures a job at a cabbage farm to earn money for sustenance. He throws himself into the work with such fervor that the task is completed before lunchtime. Elated, he discovers that he is rewarded with both food and money at the farm.
Later that night, fate intervenes as Sang-tae collides with a deer and stumbles upon the lamp in his truck. Rubbing it, he inadvertently summons Iblis. Iblis, seizing the moment, elucidates his identity as a genie and outlines the rules governing the granting of three wishes. Sang-tae, initially skeptical, takes it as a jest and implores Iblis to save the deer.
To everyone's astonishment, the deer abruptly rises to its feet, leaving Sang-tae aghast at the realization that he has squandered his first wish. Enraged, he hurls curses at Iblis, who retaliates with equal fervor, putting Sang-tae firmly in his place.
We then catch up with Yeong-hyeon and Da-jin, whose YouTube channel is languishing in obscurity. The next day, Iblis learns from Sade that Jun-u and Ka-young had attended a waltzing class together at university. Overcome by jealousy, Iblis travels back in time and orchestrates an incident that results in Jun-u breaking his leg, rendering him unable to attend the class any longer. The scene then transitions to Jun-u, now residing in a mansion in town.
Meanwhile, Ka-young seizes the moment to purchase tickets to Hawaii, setting off a wave of excitement. Pan-geum, brimming with anticipation, eagerly shares the news of their upcoming trip with everyone. However, Heung-rye can't help but burn with jealousy as she listens to Pan-geum's enthusiastic chatter.
Across town, Im-seon's heart sinks as she becomes increasingly concerned about her daughter's recent erratic behavior. Jeong-hwa has been skipping school and consorting with a questionable crowd. Things take a dramatic turn when Im-seon discovers a negative pregnancy test lurking in her daughter's trash bin. Her patience snaps, and she calls Jeong-hwa in a fit of frustration. During the heated conversation, Jeong-hwa reveals her intention to drop out of college, a stark contrast to the close bond they once shared before the wishes altered their fates. Sensing an opportunity, Iblis attempts to tempt Im-seon into making her final wish, but she remains steadfast in her refusal.
Three days pass in a blink, and Pan-geum awakens to a surreal reality—she's 28 years old once again. The overwhelming mix of joy and shock causes her to faint repeatedly. Once the initial disbelief subsides, she decides to embrace her newfound youth with gusto. She rummages through Ka-young's wardrobe, donning outfits that reflect her rejuvenated spirit, and steps out into the world with renewed vigor.
In the shadows, Irem informs Elljael of Ka-young's latest noble wish. It's a selfless act, as she didn't squander her wish on personal gain. This revelation sends a shiver down Ejllael's spine, for he fears that despite Ka-young's righteous intentions, he might still lose his coveted chance to exact revenge on his brother.
Chang-sik, accompanied by two other men, drops by to welcome the family to town and assists them in filling out the necessary paperwork. As they look around, they notice a group of heavily tattooed men loitering nearby. Chang-sik's attention is also caught by a figure in a grimy robe peering through the windows, but the mysterious man vanishes before anyone can react.
Back at Ka-young's house, she has strategically placed cameras around the perimeter, keeping a watchful eye on Pan-geum. Meanwhile, Pan-geum is busy trying to unearth a stash of money she buried long ago. Ka-young reveals that she took the money and invested it wisely in the stock market, amassing a fortune. She even proudly mentions that she funded Min-ji's education. Impressed by Ka-young's financial acumen, Pan-geum agrees to share in the profits.
On Wednesday, Ka-young meets Min-ji for their customary dinner date. Heung-rye, caught off guard, is shocked to see her, believing Ka-young and Pan-geum had already departed for Hawaii. Ka-young, quick on her feet, lies that Pan-geum went alone.
The following morning, Min-ji comes to Pan-geum's rescue, preventing her from being hit by a speeding bike. The two quickly become friends. At the bank, Bu-gyeong's simmering frustration reaches its boiling point when her manager instructs her to charm Ka-young. Seizing the moment, she locates the magical lamp and makes her first wish, specifically demanding all the money from Ka-young's bank account.
Unfazed and unworried, Ka-young learns of Bu-gyeong's wish. Iblis, observing the scene, is elated, convinced that he is on the verge of winning the bet. Ka-young, in a surprising move, embraces Iblis; she is determined to prevent Ejllael from beheading him. As they hug, the inscriptions on the wall suddenly illuminate with a soft glow.
Later, Ka-young inquires about the hourglass in the lamp, puzzled as to why the sand doesn't flow. Iblis explains that it is not a clock but an urn containing her remains. As Ka-young reaches out to touch it, the sand within the hourglass rises to meet her finger. Her watch begins to tick backwards, and she is enveloped in a vision of being trapped inside the lamp. She also witnesses a chaotic scene unfolding, with Iblis kneeling in submission.
The vision leaves Ka-young shaken, as she realizes it mirrors a recurring dream she's had. Curiosity piqued, she asks Iblis if he ever brought her to the lamp in their past lives. Iblis, perplexed, denies any recollection and deems it impossible.
The next day, Jun-u and his son, Jung-hoon, pay a visit to the mechanic shop. Jung-hoon begins to regale Ka-young with tales of trade routes during the Goryeo dynasty, his demeanor and speech patterns strikingly odd. Yet, Ka-young remains oblivious. Sade makes an appearance, and Jung-hoon catches a glimpse of the mystical creature lurking in his shadow.
Ka-young abruptly leaves to confront Pan-geum, who is wearing her favorite heels. As she approaches the café, she is taken aback by the sight of Pan-geum and Min-ji laughing and enjoying each other's company. A pang of jealousy surges through her as she witnesses their happiness together.
Iblis suddenly materializes before them, his voice laced with mischievous curiosity as he inquires whether the act of hugging is governed by any unspoken rules. Ka-young, her fury simmering just beneath the surface, is too consumed by anger to utter a single word in response. With a swift, decisive movement, she turns on her heel and strides away, leaving Iblis standing alone in her wake.
Meanwhile, Ejllael, his patience frayed at the edges, sets about the task of attempting to restore the painting that Iblis had callously vandalized. In the throes of his frustration, he catches sight of Iblis lurking nearby. Without a moment's hesitation, Ejllael confronts him, and a fierce brawl erupts within the confines of a soju bottle, their fists flying in a flurry of blows that echo through the air. They trade punches with unbridled ferocity until exhaustion finally overtakes them, leaving them panting and spent.
As the night deepens and darkness envelops the world, Ka-young finds herself lost in contemplation, her mind replaying the haunting vision that had left such an indelible mark on her psyche. In that fleeting glimpse of another realm, she had heard the plaintive cry of a young girl, her voice tinged with desperation as she pleaded, "Please." The question of what the girl was begging for lingers in Ka-young's thoughts, a persistent enigma that refuses to be ignored.
Later that same night, Ejllael pays Ka-young a visit, his eyes alight with determination as he endeavors to persuade her to make a third righteous wish. In a bid to sway her, he proposes an extraordinary offer: he will transport Ka-young back in time, enabling her to uncover the truth behind Iblis's vendetta against her and to finally learn the circumstances surrounding her own demise in a bygone era.
