Upon her return from the trip down the corridors of time, Ka-young's curiosity about the enigmatic 20-year gap intensifies. She delves into the annals of Goryeo's history, eventually unearthing the very information Jung-hoon had alluded to earlier.
Iblis is consumed with worry over the hourglass and Ka-young's final wish. Determined to sway her heart once more, he turns to the world of dramas, seeking to master the art of becoming the perfect, irresistible man. He stages elaborate scenes inspired by various K-dramas, even managing to flawlessly mimic Song Hye-kyo's iconic performance in "Glory." Yet, despite his efforts, the attempts come across as comically misguided. Unimpressed, Ka-young inquires about the peculiar expression he had made and whether he had ever been in love before. Hyeong-hyeon, prompted by a notification from a genie app on his phone, makes a drunken wish. He yearns to uncover a crime mystery in the village that would catapult his YouTube channel to fame. Instantly, he finds himself transported to the forest, where he stumbles upon a dead body, inadvertently broadcasting the gruesome discovery live on his channel. As the news of the body's discovery spreads, fear grips the villagers. Mi-ju drops by Min-ji's clinic for a routine check-up and later stops at the supermarket. There, she overhears Seung-rye insinuating that Ka-young might be involved in the recent macabre find. Chang-sik quickly refutes the claim, pointing out that the police had determined the victim was killed 20 years ago, making it impossible for an 8-year-old Ka-young to be the culprit.
Upon returning home, Pan-geum finds Ka-young and breaks down in tears. She pleads with Ka-young to disregard the hushed rumors and maintain her normal routine. Later, Bu-gyeong pays Ka-young a visit, demanding that she clear her name. Ka-young stands her ground, calling out Bu-gyeong's greed. Bu-gyeong confesses to having wished for money from the genie. Unyielding, Ka-young refuses to back down, prompting Bu-gyeong to threaten her life. In a moment of defiance, Ka-young questions Bu-gyeong's malevolence, noting that she isn't a psychopath. As evening descended, Iblis paid a visit to Ka-young, inquiring with concern about how she was coping with the swirling rumors. He led her to the village's highest vantage point, where they spent a tranquil moment stargazing. In an attempt to lift her spirits, she gave him a playful shove. Upon their return home, they encountered Min-ji, who was rife with suspicion after discovering that Mi-ju had taken up residence in Pan-geum's former abode. Mi-ju claimed to be Iblis's sister, but Min-ji's skepticism was palpable. She pressed for answers, yet Ka-young intervened, urging her to withhold her questions and pledging to divulge everything in due time.
At the guesthouse, Sade informed Sang-tae that two female guests had checked out. As Sang-tae inspected the rooms, his gaze finally settled on the lamp. Summoning Iblis, he made his second wish, expressing a desire to revisit a specific moment in 2004. Iblis granted his request, transporting him back to the fateful night when he had committed a murder in the forest. To Sang-tae's surprise, his mother had been aware of his secret all along but had chosen to remain silent. The recollection of his past deed sent a thrill through Sang-tae. Upon his return, he expressed his gratitude to his sleeping mother.
After uncovering the truth about Sang-tae's past, Ka-young came to the realization that he was a serial killer. She devised a trap, patiently waiting for him to fall into it. Iblis, however, was plagued by doubts about whether he would lose the wager. Ka-young reassured him, promising to aid him in winning. Her words resonated deeply with Iblis, causing him to acknowledge that he was developing feelings for her. He retreated to the desert, where he relived cherished memories of her.
The following day, Ka-young embarked on her meticulously crafted plan to apprehend Sang-tae. Meanwhile, Jung-hoon continued his visits to the man trapped in the attic, always bearing an apple as a gesture of kindness.
One fateful night, the man cast a spell that plunged the entire village into a deep slumber and made his way to Iblis's lamp. Irem, questioning his motives, revealed that the man was none other than Shadi, a genie who harbored a deep-seated grudge against Ejllael for slaying his brothers during a war. Despite his animosity towards Ejllael, Shadi's intentions were not focused on him.
Shadi approached Iblis's lamp and bound his hands with enchanted cords. The next morning, Sade convened everyone at the lamp, struggling in vain to untie the strings. Irem reported her sighting of Shadi the previous night.
Determined to free Iblis, Ka-young took a drastic measure and severed his arm with a sharp blade. Fortunately, Iblis's healing powers allowed him to recover swiftly. In his haste to leave after an emotional exchange with Ka-young about the past, he inadvertently left her trapped inside the lamp.
Upon his departure, Iblis sought out Ejllael to uncover the identity of Shadi's master. To his astonishment, he learned that it was the immortal being he had created in the desert during his act of saving Hunbish. Regrettably, Iblis could not recall Hunbish's face. He enlisted Sade's help to journey back in time and refresh his memory of Hunbish's appearance and scent.
In the past, Iblis located Hunbish and left him a stern warning not to harm Shadi. Meanwhile, Shadi returned home to find Jung-hoon waiting for him. The episode concluded with Jung-hoon receiving Iblis's ominous warning, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
