In episode 6 of Heartbreak High season 3, the story unfolds with Amerie and Harper preoccupied during practice as they hatch a plan to prove that Seb sabotaged the ride. Amerie suggests a "cuckoo," but Harper quickly opposes the idea. Meanwhile, Quinni urges everyone to focus and get their steps right, only for them all to trip and fall into each other's arms.

In the office, Woodsy and Obah are worried about what to do after learning what happened at the carnival. They argue over whether they should go to the police or protect the kids from the consequences of their actions.
After practice, Amerie and Harper try to refine their truce and agree that a cuckoo is the only way to nail Seb. Amerie spreads the word, and the students get excited as they wait for more details.
On the other hand, Missy and Spider try to talk, but things only escalate as they blame each other. On the brighter side, Quinni forgives Sasha, and they talk about Taz. It's clear that Sasha wants more with Taz, but the latter doesn't feel the same.
Taz interrupts to ask what a cuckoo is, and Sasha invites her after explaining that they are basically raiding someone's house and throwing a party. After Sasha leaves, Taz asks about the next chapter of Velvet Thrones. Quinni admits she's stuck, and Taz helps her get past her fears as a writer now that her identity has been disclosed. As they hang out together in the sensory room, they realize they are attracted to each other.
Elsewhere, Ca$h continues to grieve Darude's loss. He lets slip that he and Darren are considering leaving for New York. Nan is beyond excited for him and sets out to help him get ready.
At school, Woodsy summons a meeting with Malakai and his mother, pleading with her to keep the incident hidden from the police and safeguard the children's future. Later at home, Woodsy attempts to persuade Taz not to form a friendship with Amerie and her crew, ordering her not to attend the party. However, Taz sneaks out and leaves the door open, inadvertently allowing Woodsy's dog to escape.
After school, Amerie leads the students to Seb's house for the cuckoo party. She convinces Seb that calling the police and ruining the party would tarnish his reputation. As the party rages on with Spider and Missy getting competitively drunk, the others argue about how to find evidence that Seb was at the carnival. Taz overhears and offers to help, managing to steal Seb's phone but is quickly caught. She dives into the pool with the phone, inspiring the others to join in the commotion. In the chaos, Seb forgets about his phone.
After Taz volunteers to help, Quinni confesses to Darren that she likes her. After the swimming pool incident, Taz and Quinni share a kiss while she changes clothes. Sasha sees them being affectionate and gets jealous.
At the Bowlo, Ca$h is touched when his boss adds Darude's picture to the wall. Malakai drops by to drown his sorrows and they start talking.
Ultimately, Ca$h confesses his fear of leaving, while Malakai admits to struggling with fitting in both in Geneva and here. They also delve into Ca$h's fervor for tattoos, and Malakai asks to get one. Back at the party, Amerie and Harper are about to lose hope when they finally hack into Seb's computer. Unfortunately, he discovers them before they can find anything useful. Together, they confront him, and he directs them to Noah.
Simultaneously, Spider and Missy break up after she candidly admits that she no longer feels the spark between them. The same fate befalls Taz and Quinni when Sasha reveals that Taz was the one who outed Quinni as the author of "Velvet Thrones." Darren immediately calls out Sasha for her selfish reasons behind the revelation.
Harper and Amerie find Noah, and he admits that Seb called him and said that he saw Amerie being chummy with Malakai at the carnival. He and Seb waited for almost an hour to catch them in the act. Noah then turns the conversation to whether Amerie still has feelings for Malakai and insists that he didn't turn on the ride.
Meanwhile, Missy and Sasha commiserate in their misery as the cops arrive and shut down the party. Taz returns home and gets into an argument with Woodsy over her recklessness. Taz accuses Woodsy of abandoning her after her mom died. She begs Woodsy to do her a favor and send her away.
Later, after getting his tattoo, Malakai walks home and comes across Woodsy's dog. He brings it back home and asks Woodsy to do the right thing and allow him to take accountability.
The following day, Woodsy summons the involved students to her office. She gives them a chance to come clean before calling their parents and the police. She also expels them with immediate effect.
