In the opening of Episode 7 of Season 2 of "Hijack," Marsha is found alone in the wilderness, in hiding from the assassins who are closing in on her. Despite her busted leg and the fear that surrounds her, she is armed with her phone and her wits. She makes a decision to make a run for it, and, with the help of her phone's signal, she is able to contact Daniel. She informs him of Nick's death and her predicament, and later in the episode, she manages to reach out to Olivia, relaying a hurried message to Sam that she's okay and that he can't be swayed by the terrorists.

At the train station, everyone is in a panic after the gunshot that pierced the air in the previous episode. Sam is still alive but has been grazed by a bullet, while Jess has also survived but has been injured as well. Onboard the train, the group tend to their wounds and prepare to put this nightmare behind them. At this point, Sam and Otto admit that they've smuggled the USB drive out, which is how they knew Jess was hostile.
At the Control Room, they do catch wind of the train's whereabouts, including the function change and that they're somewhere on the U6 line. However, they're still running blind and unsure exactly where they are. Meanwhile, Faber realizes that Sam has been lured into heading to Berlin, with the whole thing set up to frame him. But with hundreds of lives hanging in the balance, Faber needs to find proof that there's someone else pulling the strings and that Sam is just another cog in the machine. Part of this could come from the voice recording from Marsha but it doesn't feel like enough to swing the tide.
On the platform, Robert Lang tells Bailey-brown in confidence that this is his ticket out and it's all been done for him. Outside, Lang makes a call to Jess and Sam, where the pair work to convince him everything is okay. The way to do that is bringing the train up to the surface, above ground. There's a train depot at Britz-Sud that could do the trick but they need to watch for a potential ambush.
Even worse, the train has just started to lose power. After the explosion wiped out the back carriages, the train is struggling, with the back-end scraping against the train tracks. The tension and urgency of the situation are palpable as everyone onboard tries to find a way to escape their predicament and reach safety.
Sam stepped down the carriage, intending to assess the damage. With two trains connected, each with a pair of carriages joined in the middle, the primary issue was in the rear carriages. They needed to quickly uncouple them and continue, but time was of the essence. The guards had caught wind of the train headed on the U7 route to the depot, and Lang had decided to eliminate one of his fellow intelligence officers who asked too many questions.
Faber was struggling to crack the laptop's encryption, and given the level of cover-up, it was believed that the culprit was from within the agency. We knew it was Lang, but this crucial piece of information helped steer the investigation in the right direction. The authorities were closing in on the train and intended to intercept it soon.
Sam took a bold step and moved many of the passengers around, intending to try and bargain with Lang, using them as collateral. When the train stopped, Sam and Otto had to work together while Jess clung on for dear life. With the strike on standby, Olivia raced in with proof that Sam had been coerced. However, it came too late as all the lights in the tunnel went off, forcing them to move before it was too late.
The strike team arrived on the train and began shuffling the passengers off. Jess sacrificed herself and was shot, while Sam pleaded with the Control Room not to kill him, warning that everybody would die if they didn't send the train to the end of the line. With Olivia's admission as an added bonus, they were able to move on.
Meanwhile, Detective Beck caught up with the bombmaker, Jozef. He was about to leave on a plane, but Beck was there first to arrest him. Unfortunately, all of this took place while Jess failed to pick up Lang's call. However, with the convoy still moving and the lie that Sam was a bad guy continuing, they had no choice but to carry out this hijack until the bitter end.
In prison, we see that Stuart is not completely out of this yet. A few prison guards are in on the act and pass him a mobile phone.
