In the present, Jim is frustrated that Lexy has bailed on a last-minute commitment and agrees to reconsider giving Anna her job back. At home, Jack goes through Rachel's texts with Helen and is shocked to see them making fun of him. There's also a video of Rachel and Helen engaging in BDSM play with Duffie, which Helen didn't want anyone to see as it would ruin her reputation. Just then, Meg runs in to call him for dinner.

Zoe is rude to Meg and sends her away to confront Jack about Rachel's murder. It turns out that Meg told her about the DNA swab. The siblings argue as they call each other irresponsible before Jack insists that he didn't kill Rachel.

Elsewhere, Priya submits her and Duffie's DNA at the morgue. The mortician mentions Jack's visit and how he was looking for his wedding ring. Priya is surprised since he doesn't wear one.

At the network studio, Lexy shows up just before airtime, claiming she was babysitting for her sister-in-law. Jim lets her kick Anna out, who is humiliated.

That night, Jack embarked on his quest to confront Helen. Priya's call brought him an update: Duffie had been relentlessly calling Rachel and Helen, and a boot print of size 10 was discovered at the crime scene, ruling out Duffie as the culprit since he wore size 11. She also inquired about Jack's wedding ring, to which he deflected, urging her to focus on tailing Duffie. Although she dropped the subject, we see that Jack is a suspect on her personal investigation board.

Meanwhile, a neighbor spotted Jack and informed him that Helen was still at school. He broke into the chapel when she didn't answer, but found nothing and left. As for Priya, she followed Duffie and witnessed him discarding BDSM gear.

Jack went to the supermarket to buy plastic bags and encountered Richard purchasing bleach and a hammer. Upon seeing Jack, the petty Richard bought condoms. Jack was annoyed and, as he revisited the crime scene with covered feet, he recalled his final hookup with Rachel. She mocked Anna, prompting him to become aggressive. In retaliation, she scratched his face.

At present, Jack ran into Coach Willie who looked after the nearby cemetery. As they caught up, Willie mentioned CCTVs. They reviewed the footage and spotted a hooded figure in front of a gravestone as a car passed by. The murder had occurred on September 2nd, and Jack realized it was Anna at their child, Charlotte's grave, for her death anniversary.

Anna was driving back to Dahlonega when a song played on the radio, triggering a memory. She started crying as Jack sang the song to their crying child. They had to leave her with Alice. At present, Alice sulked in her hotel room, where Richard offered companionship. They tried to rationalize Lexy's motives but were stumped when Anna learned there was no sister-in-law to babysit for. She wondered if Lexy meant her sister but was revealed that her sister was dead. Anna wallowed in self-pity, questioning if she was allowed to do bad things because bad things happened to her.

Meanwhile, Alice's condition deteriorated, and Jack found her wandering the streets, naked and disoriented. When she regained consciousness, he pleaded with her to seek help, but she was determined to die in an accident rather than lose her sense of self. Instead, she begged him to reconcile with Anna, whom he still loved. Emboldened by her request, he sent a text to Anna, but received no reply. The next morning, he received the devastating news that Helen had been murdered. He rushed to the school, where Anna was already standing, smiling as she greeted him.
