In the fourth episode of "His & Hers," the story unfolds with Anna reporting about a serial killer, as she narrates that the most dangerous trait humans possess is the ability to lie. Jack confronts Anna, who claims that Helen wanted to meet at 7 a.m. She discovers Helen's lifeless body, films it, and calls the police 45 minutes later. Frustrated, Jack directly questions her about her alibi for Rachel's murder, but she remains evasive, leading him to wonder if she might be responsible for the murders as well.

Priya completes her background check and informs Jack that Richard has a history of violence, having once broken a woman's jaw and been charged with battery assault. Jack wants to warn Anna but she leaves, so he confronts Richard with the information. Jim calls Anna to share that the network is pleased with her work but pushes her to get more exclusives to solidify her position. Desperate for success, she agrees. She convinces the mayor to hold a televised press conference with a Q&A session for the residents. Jack thinks it's a bad idea, but no one listens to him.

Back to the case, Helen received a phone call at midnight, but she was already dead. Her eyes are staples shut and there's a word "liar" on her forehead. The same bracelet is in her mouth, but it looks new. Jack goes through Zoe's belongings and finds the same bracelet. She reveals that Anna made them for their friend group. He realizes it was a sexual gesture and Zoe confirms that Rachel was interested in Anna. A high school flashback shows Rachel gifting Anna a bra and taking her photo in it. They invite Catherine and give her a makeover. Rachel claims the piss drink was a fake prank and wants a do-over. Catherine believes her, but Zoe and Helen smirk.

Currently, Anna learns of Alice's midnight mishap and is deeply concerned for her. She's determined to help, and Alice eventually agrees. Meanwhile, Priya is following up on Helen's midnight phone call when she learns that Jack has canceled the trace on Rachel's phone. Confused, she requests Rachel's phone records as well.

Before the press conference, Richard checks in on Anna and they share a sweet moment as he teases her for carrying a gun. During the event, Jack is heckled and he simply storms off. Anna tries to calm the crowd down, but ends up targeting Zoe. A brawl breaks out and she smirks.

Jim loves the footage when Lexy suddenly announces she's going to Dahlonega. Back in town, Zoe confronts Anna for stirring up trouble and tries to lean into the serial killer persona that's being thrown at her. Anna instead scares her by warning her. Suspicious, Zoe wonders if their secret has something to do with the whole thing.

Richard is impressed with Anna and wants to hang out with her. However, she leaves as she decides to finally talk to Jack. Instead, Lexy shows up and has Richard film an exclusive with Duffie. The "grieving" husband even offers a monetary reward for tips, making Let's exclusive a hit. Richard tries to confront her for stealing Anna's spotlight, but she says it's revenge for going after her things and she hooks up with Richard.

That evening, Priya stumbles upon a group photo in an old yearbook. Anna is captured in the frame, wearing the bracelet and seated with Helen, Zoe, and Rachel. On top of that, the mortician calls Priya to inform her that Jack's DNA sample has been cross-contaminated. Meanwhile, Jack and Anna finally meet. She accepts that she was in the woods and witnessed Rachel and Jack's intimate moment. He insists that he didn't kill Rachel and that the affair didn't mean anything. Anna scoffs and they argue over her leaving. She subtly blames him for their child's death, stating that he wanted everything to be perfect to the point that he dismissed Charlotte's cries of pain as mere fussiness. When she died, he wanted Anna to mourn with him in his way, which made her feel like he was taking Charlotte away from her again by not allowing her to grieve in her own way. She left because she felt empty. She felt like Jack was taking Charlotte away from her again by not letting her grieve in her own way. He apologizes, and in turn, she apologizes for abandoning him. They end up kissing and having an intimate moment. However, in the end, Anna's mind drifts off.
