Episode 2 of "Just One Look" kicks off with Greta standing amidst the gleaming display cases of a jewelry store. The scene takes a dramatic turn when Borys enters, his presence looming large as he reveals a stunning revelation. The woman in the photograph, her face savagely crossed out, is none other than his daughter, Alex. Tragically found deceased outside her residence, the cross seems to serve as a macabre omen, suggesting that the other individuals captured in that fateful snapshot might be next on an unknown assailant's hit list.

Just One Look – Season 1 Episode 2 1

Borys, consumed by desperation, places his faith in Jacek and Greta, believing they harbor crucial information. His suspicion stems from Jacek's illicit affair with Alex, who was expecting his child. Complicating matters further, Alex was entangled in another relationship with a man named Syzmon. Jacek's mysterious disappearance shortly after glimpsing the photo cannot be mere coincidence, leading Borys to wonder if Syzmon might bear some responsibility for the unfolding tragedy.

Elsewhere, Jimmy tracks down Greta's workplace only to find her absent. Meanwhile, Greta reconvenes with Karol, seeking his aid regarding Jacek's vanishing act. While she craves his support, Karol's priorities lie elsewhere—specifically with the impending release of Lewinski, the arsonist whose new insights into the concert could potentially unravel the entire case. Greta, herself grappling with secrets due to Jimmy's menacing threats, deceives Karol by insisting she harbors no concealed truths.

With a heavy heart, Greta ventures to the police station to file a missing person report, only to encounter a wall of indifference. The officer dismisses her concerns as a mere misunderstanding and suggests she call back if anything develops.

Parallel to these events, our enigmatic kidnapper embarks on an online dating escapade with Maryla. Despite her wariness of scams, she invites him over for coffee, unwittingly opening her doors to danger. Maryla's instincts kick in when she detects something amiss, and her horror intensifies when she discovers Jacek, trapped and desperate, banging from within the trunk of the man's car. In a brutal twist, the kidnapper unleashes a fierce attack on Maryla, leaving her severely injured.

Later, the kidnapper coerces Jacek into calling Greta and reassuring her that all is well, though his options are severely limited. Yet, this forced reassurance only serves to heighten Greta's anxiety, casting an even darker shadow over her. Sadly, this development brings no solace to Maryla either, as the kidnapper brutally murders her that very night, torching her car in the process.

Determined to uncover the truth, Greta embarks on a thorough investigation and discovers that Jacek placed a call to his lawyer shortly before his disappearance. When she visits the law firm seeking answers, the lawyer in question remains ominously tight-lipped, refusing to divulge any information.

Undeterred, Greta decides to follow the lawyer, where she uncovers a startling revelation: this legal representative is actually defending Lewinski. Additionally, Borys manages to procure a phone number for Syzmon, only to find out that he has been abroad for quite some time. Desperate for clues, Borys decides to exhume his daughter's grave in hopes of uncovering anything they may have overlooked.

That evening, Kamila pays Greta a visit, and during their conversation, Greta reveals that she is financially entwined with Jacek. All their bills and accounts bear his name, leaving her without access to them. It transpires that Jacek holds a stake in an insurance company founded by his grandfather. Furthermore, there are underlying tensions within his family that he has shielded Greta from. Kamila, wary and suspicious, mentions that her husband has been keeping numerous secrets from her.

Perhaps the most startling secret of all stems from the revelation that the enigmatic lawyer who remained silent earlier is none other than Sandra Kowalska, Jacek's own sister.
