Just One Look – Season 1 Episode 5

Published: Mar 06 2025

The fifth episode of "Just One Look" kicks off with an intriguing call for Greta, originating from Kamila. Kamila has delved deep into the matter and uncovered that Councilwoman Dudzinska's true identity is Sylwia Lesniak. She intended to expose an article detailing the concert saga but found her hard drive wiped clean and her efforts shattered by her untimely demise. It transpires that Sylwia was acquainted with Alex, and they, alongside Szymon and Jimmy, once formed a band in their heyday. The crux of the mystery hinges on Greta's shadowy past, particularly what she might have overlooked from the concert's fateful night. Alina, Szymon's reticent mother, could hold the missing pieces, yet she remains tight-lipped, perhaps fearing dire consequences—a sentiment echoed by Lewinski, who is now under Karol's surveillance. At the train station, Karol's luck runs out as he is brutally assassinated and left in a precarious state.

The subsequent morning, authorities and the media chalk it up to a vengeful act. However, both Greta and Karol's modus operandi suggest otherwise—Karol was likely tidying up loose ends. Greta, sensing this, questions the security personnel guarding the children's school in the afternoon. But before she could delve further, their kidnapper strikes, silently eliminating both guards and abducting Greta. Fortunately, Kamila witnesses Greta's hasty departure and dials her number, only for the caller to be summarily tossed out of a moving vehicle's window by the kidnapper.

Meanwhile, Dalewski dives into his own investigation, uncovering that Roman Kowalik shared a cell with Robert Bonczyk—a seasoned assassin. Intriguingly, their cell also housed a third inmate, Marek Skalewski, who revealed the hit on Alexandra to Borys. Tragically, Marek ended his life a day after their encounters. Undeterred, Dalewski rushes to the school upon receiving reports of a commotion. He arrives to find Kamila, who explains that they were on a self-assigned mission to uncover evidence pointing to Jacek's secret stash of substantial wealth, which he had kept hidden from Greta.

Meanwhile, Borys uncovers from Agata, his informant at the Coroner’s Office, a startling revelation: Alex was not pregnant at the time of her demise. Neither did she suffer a miscarriage, hinting strongly at the possibility that she had simulated the entire pregnancy. Armed with this knowledge, Dalewski summons Borys for interrogation. He recounts his visit to Marek and proceeds to disclose the harrowing news of Greta's abduction. He then confides in Borys, unveiling their clandestine communication spanning the past five episodes and the intricacies of their operations. Just as he is about to spill the beans, they receive a critical update about Halina, the woman they have been trailing, who the kidnapper has also been monitoring and who was supposedly vacationing in Indonesia. However, the truth is grim; she is deceased. The kidnapper, Roman, has been using her residence as a covert hideout.

Upon Roman and Greta's arrival in their vehicle, they notice Dalewski and Agnieszka probing around. Agnieszka spots the car and immediately dashes off in hot pursuit, giving chase with relentless determination. Oblivious to this development, Dalewski continues his search within the house, scrounging for clues. His perseverance pays off when he discovers Jacek, gravely injured, in the basement. He is rushed to the hospital in a critical state.

Seizing the fleeting opportunity, Greta orchestrates a daring maneuver, crashing the car to distract Roman and seize his firearm. With swift precision, she shoots him amid the wreckage, as Agnieszka arrives just in time to rescue her from this harrowing ordeal.

Back at the house, forensic experts meticulously sweep the premises. Their investigation yields a crucial discovery in the cellar: a name etched into the wall – Szymon Adamiuk. What secrets does this name hold?
