Nice to Not Meet You – K-drama Episode 9 1

Jeong-sin returns home in a foul mood, only to be met by Hong-sin's news of securing a role in Kang Pil-gu. Back at home, Hyeon-jun shares everything with Byeong-gi, pondering if Jeong-sin was indeed sent by the authentic Soulishere, much like Hyeon-jun had employed a double. Meanwhile, Jeong-sin bears the brunt of the fake rejection, her heart feeling the sting of disappointment.

During an interview with actor Kim Dong-jun, the media frenzy centers around his personal life, with Jeong-sin being the lone voice asking about his professional endeavors. He accepts her business card afterward, confessing that he and his girlfriend are teetering on the edge of a relationship, but he remains determined to keep trying.

The Kang Pil-gu shoot continues, and Hyeon-jun sustains an injury to his back during an action sequence. Later, he receives another shock when he realizes that Hong-sin has been chosen to play a rookie detective, and the younger version of Kang Pil-gu has gone to Seon-u! However, revealing his identity now would only exacerbate matters, so Mr. Hwang persuades Hyeon-jun to let things be as they are.

Hyeon-jun and Mr. Hwang soon receive a visit from Oh Mi-ran, who will be part of the series, along with Jae-hyeong. After work, Hyeon-jun decides to pay Jeong-sin a visit to ascertain if she was merely a replacement for the genuine Soulishere. He and Mr. Hwang meet with Jeong-sin and Hwa-young. Hyeon-jun unearths Kang Pil-gu merchandise and attempts to elicit a reaction from Jeong-sin but remains unsuccessful in her indifference. When he sends her a text on the Onion app, she receives the notification, confirming her identity.

Hwa-young then inquires about the merger between King’s Back Entertainment and Lee Dae-ho’s Purple Line company. Mr. Hwang explains that Dae-ho sought to invest in their company. Hwa-young asks them if they know where these funds are coming from, and they admit their ignorance. After dinner, Hwa-young tasks Jeong-sin with delving into the relationship between Hyeon-jun and Se-na, adding another layer of intrigue to an already complex web of events.

That night, Jeong-sin's response to Hyeon-jun's message brings a moment of clarity as she realizes Byeong-gi's revelation about their broken engagement. Hyeon-jun storms into Byeong-gi's abode, igniting a confrontation that could have been avoided. However, Mr. Hwang, unbeknownst to them, overhears every word, wondering aloud why Jeong-sin, a self-proclaimed fan, had treated Hyeon-jun so harshly. A flashback reveals Jeong-sin's confession to Byeong-gi that her heart belonged to Kang Pil-gu, not Lim Hyeon-jun—a secret she keeps from the latter.

As Jeong-sin toils late at the office, her brother pays a surprise visit, bearing a bundle of goodies. He hands them over to Jae-hyeong, who carries them up to find Jeong-sin napping at her desk. Hwa-young catches sight of him draping his jacket over her shoulder. When Jeong-sin awakens, Jae-hyeong leads her to the riverside for a meal prepared by Hong-sin. In a gentle voice, he urges her to let go of the man who spurned her and return to him.

Meanwhile, at home, Hyeon-jun stumbles upon the USB drive Jeong-sin inadvertently left at his residence. He decides to return it to her but witnesses Jae-hyeong dropping her off at her doorstep. Hiding in the shadows around the corner, he is nearly discovered when a group of schoolchildren recognize him, inadvertently capturing Jeong-sin's attention in a twist of fate.
