The third episode of "No Tail to Tell" commences as Woo-seok leaves, declining Si-yeol's offer of help. Trouble brews as Thames FC is expelled from the championship due to accounting fraud. They demand that Si-yeol play in the second division and refuse to allow him to transfer. His agent, Yeon-su, books a flight to personally renegotiate with the chairman.

Si-yeol is conflicted as it's his grandmother's death anniversary. We learn that Woo-seok took care of her and has been visiting her grave every year. He is supportive of Si-yeol, who decides to ditch the meeting and visit her grave instead. The two boys finally catch up, and Woo-seok confesses that he doesn't want any favours as he wouldn't be able to look Si-yeol in the eye. He also expresses concern about Si-yeol's career when they again spot Eun-ho's business card.
Si-yeol decides to make a wish and manipulates the Thames FC chairman into agreeing to a transfer for a ridiculous amount. Woo-seok, hopeful, finally agrees to a wish. But Eun-ho refuses as he cannot afford her. She also refuses to let Si-yeol wish on Woo-seok's behalf as it would become a good deed. Arrogant and cocky, Si-yeol mocks her powers and offend her. She takes the bait but decides to make him pay. She warns him that she'll grant the wish the way she wants, and Si-yeol agrees. They part ways with Si-yeol heading to London to finalise his transfer.
Well, Eun-ho has Woo-seok and Si-yeol switch lives. And it all begins with CEO Lee Yoon hitting Si-yeol instead of Woo-seok.
Woo-seok promptly figures it out and is thrilled with his newfound successful life. Si-yeol is bewildered, but Eun-ho refuses to divulge the details. Four low-level football players from Si-yeol's new reality drag him to make amends with his coach. Apparently, Si-yeol had a fight with the coach and was subsequently cut. Our slow-to-catch-on Si-yeol demands to be taken to London to complete his transfer.
Elsewhere, an old client, Chairman Kim, informs Eun-ho that a dagger from his museum is missing. It's the Sajin Ritual Blade she had crafted for her friend, Geum-ho, when her family was branded as traitors and hunted down by the King.
A flashback reveals Lord Pagun warning Eun-ho not to lead Geum-ho into committing a sin. They shouldn't interfere, but she refuses. She gives Geum-ho the dagger and tells her to stab her husband. Killing a loved one with the blade will turn her back into a fox. However, despite the misery, Geum-ho doesn't want to abandon her family. Instead, she wishes for Eun-ho to never approach her again.
At present, Eun-ho reveals that the dagger can also kill a fox. Back to Si-yeol, his new team locks him in the coach's office. He still doesn't realize that his life has been switched. He acts like his usual cocky self, treating Coach Yong-gil as an old friend. Yong-gil is offended and refuses to take Si-yeol back. Si-yeol thinks it's all a prank and leaves.
Meanwhile, Eun-ho questions the museum guards and figures that the thief is a man using deity tricks. Chairman Kim is worried, but Eun-ho is confident no human can harm her.
It cuts to the thief picking up CEO Lee Yoon after he's discharged from prison. A flashback shows that the man approached Lee two years ago. Lee is bullied as he's unable to lie due to Eun-ho's final trick on him. The man gives him a sigil which protects him from Eun-ho's tricks. In return, he's to act as bait so that the man can hunt down Eun-ho. Yep, he's a fox hunter.
Eun-ho's fingers never cease their dance as she re-creates the hunter's face in a stroke of her brush. Meanwhile, Si-yeol struggles to reach Woo-seok on the phone, only to find the line unanswered. Desperate, he ventures to his former abode, now occupied by a stranger. The new occupant and the security guard treat him as an intruder, leaving him confused and disoriented.
The hunter, on the other hand, commands the spirit of a starving wild dog and uses Eun-ho's scent on Lee to track her down. Si-yeol is arrested for trespassing and taken to jail. To his surprise, Eun-ho appears, ordering the cops to track down the hunter. Taking pity on him, she tells him of his fate being switched and his anger boils over. He demands answers, and she claims she's punishing him for being disrespectful to her. Things can go back to the way they were if Woo-seok wishes to switch their fates again, but will he?
Eun-ho gives Si-yeol a glimpse of the new Woo-seok. He and his father reside in a luxurious apartment in London, its living room adorned with prestigious football trophies. Woo-seok can choose to transfer to whichever team he desires. Si-yeol looks terrified and Eun-ho looks smug as she wonders if he trusts his friend to make the same wish he did.
