However, the mood takes a turn when Joanne learns that it's the Kaplan family's turn. A past feud with Abby Kaplan resurfaces like a phoenix from the flames. In their youth, Joanne and Abby attended the same middle school, once close until Abby shaved Joanne's doll's head during a sleepover. Abby denied it, blaming Morgan instead. The incident left a bitter taste in Joanne's mouth, especially now that Abby has become an influencer.
Noah gently urges Joanne to reconsider her presence if her hatred for Abby runs too deep. But Joanne insists on attending to support Noah and, of course, to keep an eye on Abby's decorating skills—a girl can multitask!
Later, Esther confesses her bangs are a result of a fear that she might be pregnant. She's not ready for that and resents Sasha's enthusiasm for trying again. As Joanne and Morgan discuss the Abby feud, they decide it's time for revenge. Morgan inquires about Joanne and Noah's future plans with children, making Joanne realize they haven't yet discussed the details of parenthood. On the way to Abby's house, she tells Noah she's not quite ready for that yet.
At Abby's residence, Joanne enters full-on silent-but-deadly judgment mode. Meanwhile, Abby is a beacon of positivity and beauty—Leighton Meester always delivers! Joanne continues to sift through the perfect couple act and Abby's welcoming demeanor, finally calling Morgan and inviting her over when Abby mentions her longing for the girls' company.
On the other hand, Noah shines at the event. Gabe Kaplan mentions an open position at his temple and thinks Noah would be the ideal rabbi for the job. He offers to make an introduction, setting the stage for a potential new career path for Noah.
Moments later, Morgan arrived to stand by her sister's side. Abby feigned amnesia about shaving Joanne's doll, and in a fit of giggles, they decided to play a similar prank on Abby's baby's head. They found themselves in the nursery, where the banter turned into a heartfelt realization that they were merely envious of Abby's success. She offered a fresh doll, which Morgan gladly accepted.
Elsewhere, Esther took a pregnancy test with a sigh of relief that she wasn't expecting. She shared this news with Sasha, stating that she was done trying and didn't want any more children. Sasha was taken aback and disappointed but ready to discuss it. After her heart-to-heart with Abby, Joanne realized she had been deceiving herself. She longed for a family like Abby's, albeit without the "annoying" part. She opened up to Noah and confessed that she might not be as anti-establishment as she thought. Noah was overjoyed and shared his desire for the same future with her.
