In the opening of Episode 2 of Off Campus Season 1, Hannah and Garrett are seen at Malone's, strategizing their tutoring sessions and establishing the rules for their fake relationship. Garrett captures a photo of himself kissing Hannah's cheek, setting the stage for their elaborate scheme. Despite her reluctance to engage in public displays of affection (PDA), Garrett convinces her that it's necessary to make their relationship believable enough to be featured on the college gossip page, Fifth Line, run by Jules, Logan's sibling.

Garrett presents his three-phase plan: first, they establish the relationship and make it a constant presence in everyone's lives; then, they break up, leaving Justin to comfort Hannah and eventually date her. Hannah reluctantly agrees to the plan and later shows up at the boys' house for tutoring. There, she meets Jules, who introduces herself to her. Garrett, shirtless, carries Hannah upstairs to his bedroom mostly for show.
While tutoring Garrett on Kant's theories, Hannah becomes distracted by the endless texts on Garrett's phone and replies to one of the girls trying to hook up with him, asking her to wait an hour. Meanwhile, Allie tries to spice things up with Sean, but he seems completely uninterested. Sean insists their relationship is perfectly fine, which clearly bothers Allie, even though she brushes it off.
The next day, Hannah presents her new composition in class but is met with criticism from her classmates, making her even more anxious about the pop showcase. Later, Garrett arrives late to Philosophy and sits beside Hannah. He hugs her to make Justin jealous but quickly realizes Justin is not even paying attention. Hannah accidentally drops Garrett's flask, causing a loud noise that finally gets the entire class looking at them, including Justin.
After class, Dean and Beau announced a joint birthday costume party, and Garrett noticed Justin had accepted the invite. Excitedly, Garrett shared this news with Hannah, seeing it as the perfect opportunity to push their relationship to the next level. Hannah, in turn, introduced Garrett to Allie and humbly asked for a costume loan. Allie, shocked to learn about their plan, immediately offered to outfit Hannah in the most revealing costume possible to capture Justin's attention.
Meanwhile, Garrett informed Hannah that, as his fake girlfriend, she would have to join him at the party and even stay over at his house afterward. Later that day, Hannah found it difficult to focus on writing lyrics for her composition while watching hockey practice. Coach Jensen approached her, and she asked him to help Garrett improve his Philosophy score since he was genuinely trying to excel. However, Coach Jensen explained that Garrett refused shortcuts because he was tired of living in his father's shadow.
As they worked out together, Garrett asked Hannah to tutor him and began teasing her until she blushed. The two bickered over whether she was genuinely flustered, which annoyed Hannah enough to kiss him just to prove him wrong. The kiss quickly turned intense before Logan interrupted them. Still completely worked up, Hannah immediately kissed Logan too, just to prove that Garrett wasn't affecting her emotions.
Later that day, Hannah sat amidst the other puck bunnies as Jules livestreamed the thrilling hockey match on Fifth Line's Instagram account. After the game, Hannah changed in Garrett's room and emerged downstairs dressed as Elle Woods from Legally Blonde. Garrett offered her a drink, but she declined, visibly anxious as she watched everyone around her imbibe. Jules noticed the tension and questioned what was really going on between her and Garrett, given that Garrett doesn't date. Hannah defended him, while Jules remained skeptical.
Soon after, Allie arrived dressed as Jennifer Lopez in the iconic green Versace dress, while Sean halfheartedly showed up as Ben Affleck in a flannel shirt. In the kitchen, Garrett confided to Logan that Hannah seemed uncomfortable around alcohol. Logan suggested giving her a canned drink to make her feel safer. Garrett brought one to Hannah, and she quietly appreciated the gesture. Jules called them cute before walking away.
Meanwhile, Dean was intrigued by Allie's dance moves and played a JLo song for her, dancing alongside her. However, things got awkward when he tried kissing her, and Allie immediately shut him down before leaving the dance floor.
At the same time, Justin finally arrived at the party. Garrett quickly took Hannah upstairs to his bedroom so Justin could see them together. Hannah was confused by the plan, but Garrett asked her to trust him. Inside, they argued over who would get the bed before Hannah noticed bruises all over Garrett's body from hockey practice and gave it to him instead. Eventually, they compromised by sleeping on the floor.
While lying on opposite sides of the room, Hannah and Garrett talked about hockey and his complicated relationship with Phil. Garrett also revealed that he had heard Hannah singing in the greenroom during the game. Later, they ended up sitting together on the bed as they watched Justin's videos on Hannah's laptop. Hannah opened up about struggling to write lyrics for her songs, and eventually, they fell asleep together. Garrett later moved to the floor.
The next day, Garrett traveled with the hockey team while Hannah and Justin left on a class trip. Garrett spotted Hannah talking to Justin from another bus and suddenly looked away, filled with jealousy, as the episode came to an end.
