The camaraderie is evident, with Lucy hesitating to approach her ex, PJ, regarding the chip containing the other two printouts. Elsewhere, Jules and Eleanor share a heartfelt conversation, reliving memories. Jules encourages the older printout not to lose hope; if Eleanor wishes to embrace her reality, she should visit her mother. Eleanor reluctantly agrees.

Jack and Tina have procured the fake passports but face a hurdle with biometrics, requiring them to return within an hour. Jack calls Lucy, who assures him of her arrival but is preoccupied with tracking down PJ.

Lucas finds solace in Rhona, confessing the entire ordeal surrounding the printouts. He declares that he sees no divine spark in Printout Eleanor, making her unfit to be his mother. Rhona comforts him, and he confesses that he trusts only her. As the scene shifts, a weary Kira frantically attempts to reach Lucas, urging him to leave town.

Felix's exhibition is in full swing when he alerts Kira of Lucas' arrival. The moment Kira enters, a confrontation erupts as Lucas reveals that Kira stole his chance to bid farewell to his biological mother. Felix, shocked by this revelation, admonishes Kira while still understanding her predicament. He urges her to take responsibility.

Lucy finally finds PJ, but Craig has to coax her into action. She declares that the chip is a security token granting access to top-secret information. However, in attempting to hack it, all the store's computers are compromised, and the token is constructed of indestructible material, rendering it immune to physical destruction.

Meanwhile, Eleanor converged with her mother, Melissa, seeking clarity on who had accessed her medical records at age 16, the ones instrumental in printing out Jules' clone. In a rare moment of clarity, Melissa divulged the terrifying reality of forgetting, leaving both women trembling. Driven by a sense of urgency, Eleanor pledged to collaborate with Kira on finding a cure. In a moment of candor, Kira confessed that she had been using Lucas' blood to activate the printed neurons, explaining the blood drive and thefts. Yet, Eleanor was resolute in her decision to work with Kira, for the sake of Jules and Lucy.

Suddenly, they learned that Kira's office was under siege. It transpired that Darros had sidelined Tom for losing Jules and, in retaliation for Emily's murder, he had falsely accused Kira of the crime to the FDA. However, Kira assured Eleanor of her innocence, revealing that Emily's death was a ruse. In a flashback, the gun discharged but neither Kira nor Emily were harmed. Kira had convinced Emily to fake her death, achieving it by printing her teeth and torching her car.

Now, Kira and Eleanor feared that Darros had already laid siege to Jules, as she was unreachable. They turned to Lucy for help, but fortune was not on their side. Jack alerted Lucy that the biometrics office was shutting down, leaving her with a stark choice. Convinced she could make it, Lucy first checked on Jules. Alongside Craig, she arrived at the settlement home to find Jules and Xander. Xander needed Lucy's drug to unlock Darros' memories and fulfill his destiny as the perfect clone. As Lucy probed him about the security token, Xander became agitated. He drew a gun and fired, missing Lucy but fatally striking Craig, marking a tragic end to Orphan Black: Echoes Episode 8.
