The episode kicks off with Ersin Turuk (portrayed by Silas Carson) storming onto the Williams' farm, seizing Johnny Williams (played by Louis Ashbourne Serkis) as his hostage, and demanding answers about the fate of Kenny Davies (portrayed by Josef Altin). It isn't long before Nathan Williams (Martin Clunes) bursts in, shouldering the blame for everything and even volunteering to lead them to Kenny's body. Nathan remains tight-lipped about the location but attempts to negotiate by hinting at their illegal stash in the warehouse behind Power Garden Center. He even goes so far as to propose using his farm for their drug operations, yet Ersin appears singularly focused on locating Kenny’s body.

Just as tensions escalate, Eva Bartosz (Natalia Kostrzewa) bursts into the room, shotgun in hand, and trains it on Ersin. This time, Ersin perks up when Eva pitches her idea for the egg van. Shortly thereafter, Nathan conducts Ersin on a tour of the farm, revealing the intricacies of their operations and introducing him to Gwen Thomas (Sharon Morgan). When it comes time to part ways, Sadie Simpson (played by Carly-Sophia Davies) opts to stay behind, leaving Rhys Simpson (Garran Howell) in Ersin's custody for the trip home.

Later that evening, Nathan gives Eva an opportunity to back out, but she insists she needs the money. He offers her an advance before unveiling the truth about Johnny and Kenny. In return, she warns him to keep his guard up around Ersin. Meanwhile, PC Jane Crowther (Eiry Thomas) frantically contacts South Wales Police Communication, trying to trace an anonymous tipster. As Nathan introduces Ersin to Gwen, she not only agrees to sell the egg business but also permits him to retain the Thomas name. They then show him around the farm, meticulously explaining the inspection process.

Johnny and Sadie find themselves discussing Kenny at school when Rhys unexpectedly appears, inquiring about the status of their drug supply. Their conversation is abruptly cut short by an interfering teacher. Elsewhere, Nathan learns that his loan application has been denied, while Joan manages to trace the anonymous call. Desperate after learning of the loan denial, Nathan pleads with Ersin for assistance in purchasing the farm. Initially reluctant, Ersin eventually agrees after hearing Nathan’s proposal, stipulating immediate repayment. Ersin informs Nathan that his chemist, Hakan (played by Atilla Akkinci), will meet him at the hatchery to outline the necessary conversions for accommodating their shipments. The anonymous caller, Pete Mason (Gavin Spokes), spills the beans to Jane about what he witnessed the night the car was torched.

Caleb Williams, portrayed by Mark Lewis Jones, arrives at the farm with the intention of taking Johnny fishing. However, when Nathan conjures up an excuse about having homework, Caleb instead invites himself in for a beer. Once inside, Caleb insists that Nathan must accept the job offer he had previously extended. Caleb grows suspicious and furious when Nathan offers to lend him the money rather than earning it through work. Nathan attempts to detain Caleb from storming out, but to no avail.

Eva's arrival prompts Nathan to confide in her his intentions to keep Caleb at bay from the farm's ongoing affairs. She queries the realism of such endeavors. Elsewhere, Johnny and Sadie find themselves in the hay loft, where Sadie briefly inquires about Alice Williams, played by Mia Tomlinson. Johnny reveals to Sadie that Alice yearned for escape after their mother's demise, prompting Sadie to express a similar desire.

While Nathan and Sadie consult with Hakan regarding the delivery requirements, Cakir, portrayed by Akin Gazi, makes an unexpected appearance and urges Nathan to assist him in disposing of Michelle's body, played by Catrin Powell. Nathan complies, using his backhoe to dig a hole and conceal the body within.

Shortly after Nathan buries the body, Jane shows up at the farm, informing him that a witness had spotted him, Caleb, and Johnny on the night the car was torched at the mine. Despite this revelation, Nathan feigns ignorance. Before departing, Jane informs Nathan, Caleb, and Johnny that they will be required to visit the station for photographic identification as witnesses. Subsequent to this encounter, Nathan conveys the news to Caleb, along with his plan to ascertain Jane's knowledge on the matter. Caleb discourages him from pursuing this course of action, urging him to remain composed.

Defying Caleb's counsel, Nathan visits Malcolm Crowther, played by Patrick Brennan, bearing a bottle of Jameson and a leg of lamb. Under the pretext of storing the lamb in the freezer, Nathan gains access to Jane's office. There, he surreptitiously photographs Jane's evidence board with his phone. Just as he prepares to leave, Nathan receives a call from Caleb, informing him that he has located the mine witness. The episode concludes on this cliffhanger.
