Episode 5 of "Pantheon" kicks off with Stephen's scheme coming to light, as he plots to unleash a lethal pandemic designed to coerce humanity into embracing UI existence through propaganda. Concurrently, Maddie and MIST are on a mission to track down Caspian, whose whereabouts remain mysterious.
Elsewhere, Renee meets with Stephen, who delves deeper into his plan. Recognizing the importance of role models in motivating humans to upload, they've chosen a young boy who ages at an unprecedented rate of nine times the normal speed.
As Maddie and MIST trace Caspian's steps to Israel, they board a plane to intercept him. Meanwhile, Caspian has been abducted by a UI named Yair, who hopes he can rectify a glitch in his code. With Yair's memories and essence locked away, they gradually unlock them, revealing his dark past as an assassin. Forced to relive his painful experiences, Yair seeks a cure with desperate fervor, yet no emotion proves potent enough to trigger it. Caspian steadfastly refuses to create one, even if it means condemning Yair to oblivion.
Maddie visits Farhad to enlist his aid in locating Yair. Together with MIST, they infiltrate the facility, using drones as a diversion to outwit the security. In her primitive robot body, crafted by Maddie, MIST aids Caspian in his escape.
Simultaneously, Ellen graces a talk show, sparking discussions about the viability of coexistence between humans and UIs. Unbeknownst to Stephen, Ping betrays him by spilling the beans on Caspian's location to other UIs, leading to Yair's abduction. In a fit of rage, Stephen eliminates Ping and hastens his virus's release into the real world.
Having undergone a change of heart, Chanda covertly reaches out to Ellen. Trusting her insights on UI-human relations, he alerts her to Stephen's treacherous scheme.
The episode concludes with Maddie and Caspian contemplating the necessity of a Supreme Guardian. With Yair proving unreliable and Farhad still shattered by Olivia's demise, Caspian resolutely decides to assume the mantle himself.
