Following the creature’s trail, they stumble upon an astonishing find: the Quantum Unfolding Chamber.

Peacemaker – Season 2 Episode 4 1

Fast-forward to the present, and Economus is enduring the worst day imaginable, embroiled in heated arguments with Judomaster, the eagle hunter, Red St. Wild, and Fleury. The team is rife with discord, clearly teetering on the brink of failure. Yet, they press on with their plan regardless.

Meanwhile, Chris finally senses that something sinister has unfolded at his home. His first instinct is to search for Eagly, only to find the eagle wreaking havoc on his refrigerator—not exactly helpful. Fortunately, Economus manages to send him a frantic message, briefly explaining that A.R.G.U.S. is hot on his trail.

As soon as Chris grasps the gravity of the situation, he grabs the strange metallic tool that once belonged to the goblin and flees his house with Eagly in tow. Timing couldn’t be more critical, as A.R.G.U.S. agents are already descending upon the premises. To compound his troubles, Judomaster spots Chris and lunges at him. Without his Peacemaker costume, Chris is forced to engage in a bare-knuckle brawl.

Simultaneously, Eagly finds himself in the midst of his own skirmish. The eagle hunter, who’s accompanying Economus, spots the bird and readies his weapon. Economus, however, is determined to prevent any harm to Eagly and shoves the hunter to the ground. When the man’s head slams against a rock, Economus is left fearing the worst—that he might have killed him.

Chris, meanwhile, emerges victorious from his fight with relative ease, leaping off a ravine with Judomaster clinging to his back. The impact knocks Judomaster unconscious, allowing Chris and Eagly to make a dash for Adebayo’s car, which Chris had called for assistance before fleeing his home.

Red St. Wild regains consciousness with nothing more than a bruise on his forehead, while Economus concocts a story about a second eagle launching a surprise attack on the man.

The hunter is taken aback by the oddity, for these birds are known to fly solo. Thus, he concocts the only plausible explanation that springs to mind: Eagly must be the primal eagle, the sovereign of its kind, the very creature he has yearned to slay for an eternity. Economus stands there, utterly flabbergasted by the hunter's logic, but decides to let him cling to his delusion.

Upon entering the house, Bordeaux promptly instructs Economus to hack the lock, eager to uncover the secrets concealed behind the door leading to the pocket dimension. He then dials Chris, attempting to piece together the situation. His friend offers only a scant explanation, urging him to stall for as long as humanly possible.

The dilemma lies in Economus's profound inability to stall. He concocts the most feeble of excuses, like slowly unloading his gear from his bag or claiming to hear a cat's distressing wail. His transparent ruse is obvious to all, and after a few minutes, he finds himself with no choice but to proceed with the task at hand.

Meanwhile, Chris and Ads are racing against the clock as he elucidates his discoveries in the alternate dimension and outlines his next move. He plans to employ the metallic tool to forge a new portal within a secluded house nestled in the heart of the woods. To facilitate this, he summons Chase, requesting that he bring along a door.

Upon their arrival at the house, he activates the tool, pressing a series of buttons. Suddenly, an otherworldly energy begins to emanate from it, threatening to engulf everything in its vicinity. He and Ads make a hasty retreat, and just as they step outside, a colossal surge of power propels them even farther away.

Yet, this is precisely what he had intended. In a nail-biting twist of fate, just as Economus manages to hack the lock, the door within Chris's house remains stubbornly shut, defying all attempts to force it open. When Bordeaux tries again, it reveals nothing more than an ordinary closet.

Furious, she contacts Rick Flag to relay the events, and his anger boils over. He swiftly devises a new strategy: he will pursue Harcourt. Unbeknownst to them, she has just returned from yet another brutal bar brawl.

When Rick rings Emilia's doorbell, she reluctantly lets him in, but the atmosphere is immediately laden with awkwardness. The tension thickens as their conversation grows more serious and direct, especially when Rick shifts the topic to his son. Emilia leaps to Peacemaker's defense, insisting that he was merely adhering to orders. However, Flag remains unswayed by her justifications. Realizing that his stern approach won't sway her loyalty, he changes tactics.

He reveals to Emilia the harsh truth: Waller has blacklisted her from every intelligence agency. Despite her years of dedicated service and her pivotal role in saving the world, she's been denied the position she yearns for, no matter her efforts. But Flag offers a glimmer of hope. He proposes a solution: if Emilia brings Peacemaker to him, he'll ensure her career aspirations are fulfilled.

Meanwhile, Chris opens up to Ads, pouring out his heart. He confesses to killing his alternate self, recounts the existence of a different Harcourt, and expresses his desire to relocate and start anew in the alternate dimension. Despite her own life taking a downturn, Adebayo is staunchly against the idea. She argues that even if the alternate dimension isn't a ruse, it's not truly his life.

Chris, however, remains undeterred. In his eyes, he deserves a chance to live in a realm where he's cherished, his family thrives, and he has a shot at love. He believes the other Peacemaker—the one plagued by misfortune in this dimension—should be the one stuck here. Just as Adrian arrives with the door, interrupting their profound conversation, Chris realizes he must speak with Harcourt before making any decisions.

In a moment of desperation, Chris texts Harcourt, unaware that it's the worst possible timing. He invites her to a secluded park, far from the prying eyes of the new Quantum Unfolding Chamber. Hesitant at first, Harcourt eventually agrees to the meeting. She steps out of her house, informs Rick Flag of her whereabouts, and jumps into her car. With Flag having confiscated Economus' phone, there's no way to warn Chris, leaving him oblivious to the impending danger and deeply conflicted about Emilia's choice.

In a breathtaking twist, Red St. Wild performs a ritual near a campfire, unlocking a newfound power. The bruise on his forehead transforms into an eagle symbol, and he experiences an out-of-body journey. His astral form soars above, spotting Eagly as the bird returns to Chris, Adrian, and Ads' hiding spot. Now, Red St. Wild knows exactly where they are.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team converges, intent on capturing Peacemaker. Judomaster emerges from the woods, spotting Chris's car. Unbeknownst to him, he's driving straight into a trap, as Harcourt and the A.R.G.U.S. agents lie in wait at the park, ready to spring their ambush.
