As Episode 6 of Percy Jackson Season 2 unfolds, Tyson awakens submerged in the depths of the sea, realizing that he can breathe without difficulty. He discovers Annabeth's bracelet among the wreckage of the shipwrecked vessel. In a recurring nightmare, Percy sees the students of Camp Half-Blood lying lifeless on the ground, a black-hooded figure storming in and attacking him, jolting him awake from his slumber. He informs Annabeth that the figure in his dream wasn't Kronos but Thalia.

Back in the cave, Grover questions Polyphemus about his use of the golden fleece to lure satyrs. Polyphemus reveals that Pan himself entrusted him with keeping the fleece here and that he's using Grover and Clarisse as bait to lure Percy and Annabeth.
The next morning, Percy and Annabeth arrive at the island, determined to rescue Grover once Polyphemus leaves his cave. When Annabeth goes to retrieve sheepskin to disguise them, she receives a message from Luke, who tries to warn her about Polyphemus. Annabeth tries to convince him to see how Kronos has changed him, but he refuses. Percy interrupts their conversation and tells Annabeth that Polyphemus is leaving his cave.
They disguise themselves under the sheepskin, which makes the half-blind Polyphemus overlook them. As Polyphemus walks away, Percy goes to the hole near the tree and sees Grover and Clarisse. Grover tries to tell him it's a trap, but Percy can't hear him. Clarisse then breaks a mirror and tries to use a shard to cut their bonds.
Percy and Annabeth return to the hole by the tree with their rope and Percy starts going down. That's when gold paint drips onto Annabeth, and she realizes they've walked into a trap. Annabeth wears her cap of invisibility and uses her disembodied voice to lure the cyclops away. In the cave, the three demigods use the extra time to search for the real fleece, which must be hidden somewhere inside. Grover uses his sense of smell to find it hidden in a crevice. Luke teleports onto the island as well, intending to go after the fleece. But of course, he soon realizes that the one on the tree is fake.
Polyphemus soon realizes that Grover has discovered the fleece and rushes back. He pushes a rock aside, attempting to enter the cave from beneath the mountain. However, Annabeth attacks him. He manages to knock her out, but then finds himself face-to-face with Tyson! The two engage in a fierce battle, with Tyson knocking both of them off the cliff's edge. Percy watches the entire incident from a narrow gap between the rocks.
Luke arrives and informs Percy that Annabeth is dying. They need to give Luke the fleece to save her, but Clarisse refuses to do so. Percy forcibly takes it from her and hands it to Luke, who places it over Annabeth. The fleece heals her, and Luke then lifts Annabeth and walks away.
To everyone's surprise, Tyson returns and pushes the rock aside, freeing Percy and his friends. Unfortunately, Luke's ship has already gained a head start. When Clarisse asks them how they will follow without a boat, Tyson calls upon his new friends who saved him in the sea - four hippocampi, creatures with the upper body of a horse and the lower body of a fish.
