In the seventh episode of Ponies, the opening montage of workers swiftly picking up the tapes from the hotel rooms captures our attention. Meanwhile, Dane is disturbed by a relentless knocking at his door at 5am. It's Bea and Twila, who reveal that Andrei has been using blackmail as a means of manipulating officials to gain more power. They're determined to find the kompromat facility before it's too late, as Chris and Tom sacrificed their lives in pursuit of this information.
As they use their tracker to scope out the hotel, they discover that the tape is being hidden in an ambulance to evade detection. They give chase and follow the ambulance until it stops, where they see Andrei meet his wife, Tatiana. Bea and Twila decide to split up, each following a different target.
Bea follows Andrei to Sasha's apartment, but Sasha isn't there. Instead, he's with his mother. Andrei lets himself in and Bea watches as he bugs the lamp before leaving. Meanwhile, Twila follows Tatiana to the park and then to a day-care center. She eventually concocts a story to get close to her, taking the child from the carer and pretending that she "crawled right in the middle of the street."
Twila's act of charity earns her a cup of tea with Tatiana. Her plan is to buy herself some time to snoop in Tatiana's bag and figure out what Andrei dropped there for her. Eventually, Twila concocts a distraction by cutting her finger open and scarping off with the bag while Tatiana tries to get a cloth for her blood.
In this tense and thrilling sequence, the characters' determination and resourcefulness are showcased as they race against time to uncover the secrets of Andrei's blackmail operation. The suspense builds as each character makes their move, creating a gripping narrative that keeps us on the edge of our seats.
Outside, Twila carefully inspects the bag and discovers... a bottle of shampoo! Unfortunately, her search has also landed her in hot water, as a photographer has snapped pictures of her and Tatiana together. Meanwhile, Dane arrives in West Germany to meet his contact, a doctor he visits for "treatments" regarding his homosexuality. Dane blames himself for his friend's death and has been consumed by guilt ever since.
Afterward, the therapist meets with Emile, who injects the man in the neck and kills him, leaving him on a bench. Eventually, Emile rejoins Dane and informs him that "it's done." However, Emile has also received a message from their friend in the village, instructing both of them to visit.
Ray comes across some heat from Cheryl, who is not pleased that her husband gave his ticket to the Elton John concert to Eevi. He reassures her that he would never cheat and eventually agrees to sort things out. When Cheryl heads home later, she finds Ray sitting with Eevi and gently letting her down. She decides to stay behind and take care of the kids while Cheryl and Ray go out together to the concert.
Unfortunately, things don't go well as Cheryl opens up about how she does everything for him. Unaware of their lover's tif, Eevi sneaks around the house and finds Ray's gun. Cheryl sees the nanny sneaking around and immediately realizes what's happening. She grabs the gun and fires.
Back with Bea for now, she continues her hunt for the tracker, eventually following the ambulance to a secluded cabin, hiding an underground control room. It's Andrei's massive base, with all his communications. Bea sneaks down and watches as she notices a multitude of monitors here. Among the videos are clips of Andrei killing the sex workers.
Bea heads over to Sasha's apartment next and immediately gets into character. She brings up their relationship problems and scribbles out hurriedly that "they're listening" for him. The pair decide to "break up" for the audio. Out on the balcony, out of earshot, they speak plainly. Sasha actually went out to meet another woman but didn't get the same spark he does with Bea. When the latter questions precisely what Sasha wants, he leans in and kisses her.
That night, the Elton John concert goes ahead. Unfortunately, as Bea is revealing to Twila what she's found about Andrei and the facility, she walks right into Andrei himself. "Hello, American," he sneers.
