Let's flashback to 2012, moments after the Avengers' heroic deeds in New York. Fury was an unstoppable force back then, a blend of power, prowess, and a swagger that made him seem invincible. Later, Priscilla meets Rhodey in a church, a man entangled in Gravik's nefarious schemes. What's his game? Could he be a Skrull too? We hold our breath, hoping for some clarification in this unexpected turn of events. Rhodey is resolute, vowing that Fury will meet his fate that day. Either Fury or Priscilla will pay the price. Priscilla pleads with him, arguing that Fury is not the man he once was. Weakened, exhausted, and defeated since the Blip, he poses no threat to Gravik's ambitions. But Rhodey's words are steely: Fury must die.

As Fury eavesdropped through the wire, he couldn't believe his ears. How could she, his beloved Priscilla, betray him? And what could be the possible reason for her betrayal?

Elsewhere, G'iah convened with Talos to discuss their next moves. She had made her choice, yet she couldn't help but inquire about her father's plans for the homeless Skrull people. Talos revealed that after suppressing the insurgency, he and Fury would demand the POTUS to provide sanctuary to the Skrulls. Their heroic deeds in saving the earth from the brink of WWIII would be their strongest argument. He cautioned that the Skrulls had no leverage and must face the harsh reality of living among humans. The bottom line was that they would be safe, albeit in disguise. G'iah shook her head in disbelief and walked away, uncertain of what the future held for her.

Fury confronted Priscilla, revealing her plot to assassinate him when she returned home. His voice was a mix of pain and love as he labeled her the "greatest mistake of his life." Yet, he admitted that he would do it all again, knowing the depth of their bond.

Priscilla shared the tale of Dr. Priscilla Davis, the deceased human whose skin Varra had usurped. Varra had chosen Priscilla deliberately, aiming to get under Fury's skin. She revealed that Priscilla had bestowed her the skin under three conditions, the foremost being that she wouldn't harm Fury. Together, they recited "Last Fragment" and aimed their weapons at each other. But with a mutual understanding, they both deliberately missed, testament to the strength of their love. In a moment filled with bittersweet emotions, Fury left her, leaving their fate hanging in the balance.

Rocket launchers rain down their fury, zeroed in on the vehicles, dealing devastating blows. Despite the onslaught, President Ritson remains resilient, clinging to life.

Gravik and his men descend from the chopper, their Russian whispers painting a false narrative, attempting to mislead the Americans into believing the attack was their doing. Talos and Fury, lurking nearby, stand ready to counter the deceit, their resolve steely.

The scene erupts into a frenzied chaos, Fury's unexpected presence throwing everyone off guard. The pair's sole focus is escorting Ritson to safety. Talos, his fists bare and powerful, shatters the glass window with a series of punches. A bullet finds its mark, transforming half of Talos's body into his Skrull form, yet he presses onward, determined to rescue Ritson.

Fury whisks Ritson away to safety, while Talos, now fully transformed into his Skrull avatar, is aided by a seemingly benevolent US soldier. But the soldier's true identity is revealed - it's Gravik. He stabs Talos in the chest, and the Skrull collapses to the ground, lifeless.

Despite Fury's swift retaliation, shooting Gravik's face off, he regains his form, a testament to the machine's power that has rendered these Skrulls nearly invincible. As Fury speeds away with Ritson, Talos's motionless body lies abandoned on the road, a tragic reminder of the battle's brutality.
