Shin’s Project – K-drama Episode 11 1

At the chicken shop, Choi Chul and Yeo-kyung arrive to find Philip and Si-on fresh from their journey in Andong. Their hearts sink as they realize something is awry when they can't reach Shin. Chul's investigation at Shin's home reveals telltale bloodstains, leading them on a trail of clues.

Shin calls Philip and divulges his whereabouts, prompting the duo to converge at the daycare center. There, Shin shares his plan with Choi and Philip, though their words remain unheard, only their intent is clear - Shin desires Philip as the negotiator.

The plan commences with Si-on visiting Madame Joo, who has unearthed the original USB - concealed at the temple where Jun's remains lie. News of the kidnapping spreads, but it incorrectly states that Dong-hee is holding a civilian hostage instead of the other way around. The police forces, including the commissioner, swiftly arrive on the scene.

Back in his office, Heo-jun takes drastic measures by blocking access to Dong-hee's bank account, displaying it as proof to Dong-hee that he is nothing more than a pawn in Heo-jun's game. Meanwhile, Choi Chul approaches Heo-jun with a request for a psychiatrist to aid in negotiating with Dong-hee. Unsurprisingly, Heo-jun volunteers himself, even offering to enter the building and "check" on Dong-hee while carrying a mysterious "medicine" for him.

In parallel, Kim Soo-dong deciphers the USB's contents and returns it to Si-on. Through a series of nifty sleight of hand maneuvers, the USB passes from Si-on to Chul to Philip, who guides Heo-jun into the building with a blindfold over his face.

Heo-jun unfurls his blindfold, revealing the truth: Shin is the true captor, while Dong-hee lies bound. Claiming that Dong-hee requires medication, Heo-jun attempts to administer a chemical injection. But Shin deftly knocks the syringe from his grasp, freeing Dong-hee's mouth from the tape. The betrayal weighs heavily on Dong-hee's heart, as he unleashes a torrent of rage against Heo-jun, confessing to every murder committed at his command. A nearby phone records the harrowing scene, live-streaming it to Chul.

Simultaneously, Philip and Yeo-kyung uncover evidence against Heo-jun on a USB and present it to the commissioner. Heo-jun admits to being on the phone with the man holding little Ji-woo hostage, his true objective being to obtain the photographs Kim Yong-woo had taken. Prior to this, he had administered a drug to Dong-hee, believing it would keep him compliant. However, Dong-hee's violent outburst resulted in Jun's death - an accident, Heo-jun claims. Upon hearing this, Shin leaps at Heo-jun, only for Chul to rush in and disentangle them.

The scene shifts to the police station, where everyone is questioned. Heo-jun and Dong-hee are arrested, while Chul and Yeo-kyung are reprimanded for their unconventional methods. Heo-jun's syringe is found to contain a lethal chemical. Meanwhile, Shin is briefly confined to his home.

Later, Philip, Si-on, Chul, and Kim Soo-dong gather at the chicken shop for a drink. Judge Kim unexpectedly appears at Shin's house, carrying all the food the others had left for him, forcing Shin to rise and partake. As he watches a video of his son, Shin whispers for him to sleep well.

Shin then treats Chul and his team to fried chicken, thanking Chul for all his efforts before departing. He returns to work at the chicken shop and resumes training Philip. Judge Kim arrives with news that Shin and Philip are now part of a Conflict Resolution Task Force. He presents them with their new case - a suit against a small business. Philip eagerly takes on this challenge alone.

An epilogue depicts more memories of Jun with his parents, painting a poignant picture of their past together.
