In the fourth episode of Sins of Kujo, the narrative unfolds as Karasuma discovers that Kujo worked for Yamashiro's firm for five years before striking out on his own. Sins of Kujo – Season 1 Episode 4 1

Kujo, grappling with conflicting emotions, meets with his other mentor, Attorney Nagaragi, to ask if it's right to target an old friend. Nagaragi shares Kujo's ideals, stating that something immoral isn't always illegal. However, as a lawyer, one should only have the client's best interests at heart and should not exploit the power imbalance. When a parent does something wrong, the son must step in to stop them.

Emboldened by Nagaragi's words, Kujo takes up the case and meets with Yamashiro. Initially, Yamashiro dotes on Kujo as usual, but Kujo gives him the opportunity to come clean. Instead of doing so, Yamashiro is ready to settle for old times' sake. However, Kujo decides to take him to court, which angers him.

Karasuma is impressed that Kujo took the case despite being against someone who knows all the tricks and taught them to Kujo himself. They visit the Kikogi Nursing Home and Kujo discovers a locked area. They are kicked out without an appointment with Suguwara. Once they leave, two of the orderlies enter the locked area, which houses rich but bedridden elderly residents. They live in squalor, abused and neglected.

When the orderlies are on break, the newer orderly, Kuga, asks the older one about Suguwara's schemes. It seems that Suguwara is taking revenge on the upper class by "taking care" of the elderly and siphoning their money. The older orderly took a video of beating up Mr. Iemori until he wrote a fake will. Suguwara catches him showing the video to Kuga and, after confirming that the video isn't backed up, makes the orderly climb a cell tower to destroy the phone. He also makes Kuga drink his coffee and warns him that if he snitches, he will be killed.

This episode of Sins of Kujo delves into the complexities of morality and ethics as Kujo navigates his personal and professional relationships while grappling with a challenging case. The nursing home scenes add a layer of social commentary, highlighting the abuse and neglect of the elderly in society.

Yakushimae delves into the story of the Iemoris, uncovering that they once owned a jewelry store with no customers yet never ceased to exist. Mr. Iemori possessed land and a large family, yet his youngest son left with his mother. In his twilight years, Iemori suffered from advanced dementia, unable to recognize even those closest to him. A flashback reveals an overwhelmed Hanae, forced to care for her father alone. Mr. Iemori proved to be a difficult taskmaster, often causing scenes in public.

At present, Kanemoto's dog, Black Thunder, destroys the office, but Kujo remains unperturbed. Yamashiro sends him a video showing Iemori writing the will, even then, he is willing to settle for half the estate. Hanae refuses, and Kujo agrees to take it all the way. He also realizes that there is something else that Sugiwara is hiding, which Yamashiro wants to settle despite having a strong defense.

Elsewhere, Mibu's men mess up a deal for Sugiwara. Annoyed, Sugiwara shows up at Mibu's club and beats up the men. He then forces Mibu to kneel and apologize, stepping on Mibu as he demands 5 million.

At the Iemoris', Hanae's sister-in-law, Saeko, helps clean up the place and confronts Hanae about pocketing the money that was set aside for Mr. Iemori's nursing bills. We learn that Hanae put him in a cheap nursing home like Kikogi because she believed she deserved a treat for putting up with her father alone. But when she looks at old photos, she genuinely mourns her father.

Mibu shows up for lunch and drinks with Kujo. Before he leaves, he hands Kujo a USB drive. Kujo tells Karasuma it is their ace against Yamashiro. Karasuma wonders why he is going against his mentor. Kujo shares that they are at odds and that they might have to face off if they are ever at odds, which Kujo doesn't like the idea of.

Soon, the content of the USB drive is leaked to the internet - it is the video of the orderly abusing Iemori into writing the fake will.
