In the seventh episode of Tell Me Lies Season 3, Wrigley and Bree come to a mutual understanding of their feelings for each other. Lucy lies to Stephen that she is not with him because she cannot trust him. She tries to get Stephen to hand over the tape to her. Stephen falls for Lucy's trap and assumes that Lucy really wants to get back with him. He agrees to give Lucy the tape, and the two plan to meet the following day after Bree's photography exhibit. The two end up kissing as Lucy pretends that she is ready to be with Stephen.
On the way back from the train station, Evan asks Mary if she would like to grab a drink. Meanwhile, Pippa shows up at Diana's room and talks to her about her breakup with Wrigley. Pippa tells Diana that she is sad about it and unsure why the breakup upset her. Diana reveals that she is going to Stanford because that would keep her far from Stephen. The two end up kissing, but Pippa brings up how she is not happy to be around Lucy. Diana tries to defend Lucy, but Pippa is appalled by the control that Stephen has over Diana and Lucy. Evan tries to mediate, but Stephen stops him. With nowhere to go, Pippa calls Wrigley and asks him to be there for her. Wrigley tries to be there for Bree, but is forced to go to meet Pippa. Lucy tries to calm Mary down while Bree is asked to take photos with other students. Stephen overhears the conversation and mocks Lucy for betraying Bree while talking highly about her to her mother. He asks her to tell Bree the truth about Evan right then, but Lucy refuses to do that to Bree.
She asks about the tape, which makes Stephen realize that she's been trying to trick him. Stephen threatens Lucy and leaves, while Mary apologizes to Bree. Evan offers to take Bree to her dorm, but she refuses his help. She tries to call Wrigley, who is in his dorm room with Pippa. Pippa asks Wrigley to have sex with her, and he does so unwillingly.
That night, Lucy shows up at Stephen's room and begs to see the tape. He gives in and plays the recording as Lucy sobs while watching the entire footage. However, Pippa shows up there too. Lucy enters their room and tells Pippa and Bree about the tape that Stephen was holding over her. She claims that Stephen has returned the tape to her and that she's going to destroy it. Pippa reveals that she had sex with Wrigley, which upsets Bree. Bree goes to Evan's apartment to be with him.
Lucy and Tegan run into each other again, and Lucy repeats herself. She warns Tegan again, asking her to stay away from Stephen, but is shocked when Tegan reminds her of a similar conversation they had the day before. In Evan's apartment, Bree is looking at old photos on Facebook when she finds one of Lucy and Evan from an old party. She picks up Evan's phone while he's in the shower as the episode comes to an end.
