Episode 6 of Season 1 of "The Bondsman" commences with Kitty behind the wheel, racing towards the bridge in a bid to track down Hub, who has inexplicably vanished on her. Upon locating his vehicle, she clings to a glimmer of hope, only for it to be shattered by a police radio dispatch announcing an accident. With her heart pounding, Kitty speeds to the accident scene, dreading the worst. Tragically, it transpires that demons have claimed another victim, leaving her carnage in their wake.
The sheriff finds it peculiar that Kitty claims to be merely running errands for Hub. She feigns innocence, asserting that Hub is otherwise occupied and graciously accepts the sheriff's invitation to catch up over old memories later.
Elsewhere, Lucky drags Hub back to his mother's garage, where he subjects him to a grueling interrogation about Cheryl's fate, documenting the entire ordeal on his phone with the intent of forwarding it to Maryanne. After enduring the brutal breaking of several fingers, Hub finally caves in and spills the beans.
A month prior, Hub and Lucky crossed paths at a bar. Lucky, seeking redemption, implored Hub to steer clear of Maryanne and Cade, insisting he had undergone a transformation and that Maryanne was instrumental in his healing. Words turned into a heated exchange, fueled by mutual animosity towards Maryanne and Cade. Hub, in a fit of pride, vowed to frame Lucky and make him look like a rat.
Tempers flared, and a sobriety-challenged Hub landed a punch on Lucky, resulting in his ejection from the club and a subsequent beating by the bouncer. This incident only fanned the flames of Hub's rage towards Lucky. That very night, Hub crept back into the club, mistaking Cheryl for Lucky due to her wearing his hat. In a tragic twist, Hub inadvertently ended Cheryl's life, a fact that Lucky was all too aware of.
Meanwhile, in Nashville, Cade and Maryanne immerse themselves in the creative haven of a recording studio. Maryanne's concern deepens as Hub fails to respond to her messages and calls. The sheriff's call brings more bad news: Lucky has posted bail, and Hub remains missing. Additionally, she is questioned about the mysterious fire at the hardware store, adding another layer of complexity to an already tangled web of deceit and danger.
Maryanne fabricates a tale, claiming she ventured to the store yet failed to encounter Hub, unaware that the sheriff is already onto their trail. As soon as her deceit is uncovered, the sheriff assumes Maryanne and Hub are accomplices. With swift action, he directs his team to reach out to the District Attorney for authorization to tap Maryanne's phone conversations.
Back at Hub's abode, Hub attempts to elucidate the existence of demons to Lucky, but Lucky suspects he's merely stalling for time. Suddenly, the demons descend upon Hub, and Lucky narrowly dodges the fray. In a dramatic turn, Hub manages to break free and vanquish the menacing entities.
Meanwhile, Lucky flees the scene, while Hub urgently phones Kitty, pleading for her to return home. Kitty arrives promptly and begins to administer first aid to Hub. Simultaneously, Cade and Maryanne make their entrance, steadfastly refusing to depart. It transpires that Maryanne has already disclosed everything to Cade. Left with no alternative, Hub reveals the half-charred corpses of the demons to them.
Both Cade and Maryanne steadfastly decline to allow Hub to confront the demons alone.
