The sixth episode of The Copenhagen Test season 1 begins with a flashback to East Berlin in 1989. We meet a young Schiff, who makes a deal with an American agent to deliver a list of KGB agents in Berlin in exchange for American citizenship. His handler tells him to wait at a hotel with the list, promising that a woman will come pick it up and deliver Schiff to the UK before finally transporting him to the United States.

However, on the day he is to meet with St. George, the Berlin Wall comes down, and there is no longer any need for the list. Schiff is ultimately arrested by the local police and tortured.
Schiff and Hale have a tense conversation in the catacombs. Schiff insists that there is no cure or way to stop the broadcasting. Hale threatens to kill him, but Schiff never answers why they chose him. Instead, Schiff gives him the unredacted file for the entire Cassandra project.
Meanwhile, Parker and Moira are in a panic as Hale has been missing for a while. Parker admits that she knew Hale was tripping but pushed for the mission. However, Moira demands that they focus on finding Hale and not wallow in self-pity. Parker is concerned that Schiff might turn Hale against them.
After reading the file, Hale realizes that the orphanage lied about how fatal the biohack was. Nevertheless, he refuses to work with Schiff, forcing the latter to use different leverage. He shows Hale his mother's ring and informs him that he has people watching them. If anything happens to Schiff, they automatically die.
Left with no choice, Hale releases Schiff. As it turns out, Schiff wants Hale to deliver St. George to him.
At the Orphanage, St. George tells Marlowe what happened with Schiff back in 1989. By this time, the team already knew where Hale was and rushed into the catacombs to rescue him. However, they can't overlook the possibility that he has been compromised. As such, Parker orders Ellie to bug Hale's house before calling Michelle.
As Hale's arrival neared, Marlowe imparted more intel on Schiff to the team. Regrettably, Schiff had already vacated his abode, leaving them with scanty findings. They were also uncertain about Cobb's role in his uncle's elaborate scheme. They conjectured that Cobb had veered off course independently to secure the mole, unaware that it would lead back to his kin.
Upon Hale's arrival, he underwent rigorous interrogation twice. In the secure briefing, Moira specifically inquired if he was under threat, and he vehemently denied it. Moira sensed that Hale was concealing his contact with Schiff in the catacombs, but she allowed him to return home, albeit with the protocol of retrieving his office keys.
On the train, Hale covertly sent a message to Schiff, promising to figure out how to deliver St. George. Arriving home, he found Michelle at his doorstep, claiming to drop off his belongings and pick up hers. Although he was suspicious, Hale let her in and surreptitiously retrieved his gun from his closet.
Inside, she employed Morse code to alert him that the apartment was bugged. Concurrently, his parents called to nag about meeting him. He promised to meet them at Victor's restaurant. Throughout this time, Parker and her team kept a watchful eye on everything.
Meanwhile, Moira met with the CIA chief to discuss the fiasco in Paris. He feigned that everything was under control and that the CIA had received faulty intel. Afterwards, Hale met with his parents at Victor's restaurant as planned. Parker sent in a new agent to keep tabs on the family. Hale's mother noticed his paranoia but he feigned normalcy. He headed to the kitchen to speak with Victor.
There, he subtly asked Victor for assistance in locating St. George outside the office. Victor insisted it was impossible but promised to make some calls before the deadline. After his conversation with Victor, Hale excused himself, claiming he had been summoned to the office. Before leaving, he told his parents that he loved them in Hakka and insisted they reciprocate.
Elsewhere, Marlowe met with Cobb to hear his account of the Paris mess. Cobb came clean about his relationship with Schiff and what he had told him thus far. He revealed that Schiff was intrigued by St. George. He handed over the hard drive and queried why they had gone through such lengths to retrieve a dummy hard drive and the Cassandra project. The better question, however, was why Hale had saved his life.
Meanwhile, Hale returned home to find Michelle cooking soup in his kitchen. Apparently, she was there for moral support. He headed to the toilet, gazed at himself in the mirror, and sent a message to Schiff, promising to deliver St. George. This immediately raised concerns for Parker and her team, prompting them to summon Moira.
At the same time, Parker sent an encrypted message to Michelle instructing her to terminate Hale.
