Published: Apr 23 2025

The fifth episode of "The Divorce Insurance" unfolds with an intriguing scenario as Ki-jun and Han-deul find themselves face-to-face with an FSS representative, the consequences of a complaint looming over their heads. The complaint stems from flyers distributed at a wedding fair, brazenly advertising divorce ceremonies—an exorbitant service that breaches the law. The oversight extends even to the FSS board, with the culprit flyer catching the eye of an observant passerby who promptly reported it. In a bid to rectify the situation, Ki-jun confidently assures that no divorce ceremonies will be held, banking on the optimism that none of the ten policyholders who enrolled at the fair will ever find themselves on the verge of divorce.

The Divorce Insurance – K-drama Episode 5 1

Elsewhere, Na-rae and Jeon-man seek the expert insight of a psychologist to discern which couple is most at risk of divorce. The psychologist's astute analysis points to the couple who claims to have zero conflicts, surmising that one partner might shy away from confrontations, hinting at a potential separation rather than seeking resolutions.

In a separate thread, Ah-yeong embarks on a quest to recruit partners for divorce prevention management, serendipitously bumping into Woong-sik, her blind date from another lifetime. A man of multiple talents and vocations—a building owner, dance instructor, and farmer wrapped in one—Woong-sik hails from a wealthy family but aspires to carve his niche as a dancer. Ah-yeong ropes him into dance workshops, albeit with no romantic intentions. Woong-sik, enchanted by her nonchalance, sweetens the encounter by presenting her with a cabbage from his very own farm.

Back at the office, Dae-bok's heart seems poised on the brink of failure with each piece of unfavorable news that crosses his desk. To add insult to injury, the physiognomist's prediction converges with the psychologist's, identifying Gu Mi-rae as their top pick for divorce. Her presence at the fair, coupled with the flyer fiasco, places her firmly in the crosshairs of potential trouble.

We swiftly discover that it is Lee Jeong-sin, Han-deul's former supervisor, who has filed the complaint against the flyer. The Vice President of Plus General Insurance, seething with anger, insists to Na-rae that the product's launch must proceed without any hitches. Suspecting a traitor within their ranks, Na-rae ponders, while the VP, in private, cautions someone about the need for discretion moving forward.

Amidst the team's scramble to thwart the impending Mi-rae crisis, Dae-bok reaches out to one of his students, Chang-hee. This eccentric salesman, as whimsical as Dae-bok himself, wins over the elderly with his dance moves and sells them insurance policies with charm. Dae-bok enlists his help to secure the two missing contracts, revealing himself as a benevolent and compassionate mentor. However, his curiosity about the flyer complaint lingers, prompting him to wonder if a lawyer might be involved.

On Na-rae's end, she uncovers that Ki-jun and Jeon-man accessed their computers after working hours. It becomes evident that hacking was impossible without an employee's personal IDs being compromised.

The scene shifts to Jeong-sin, the CEO of Best General Insurance, who devises a plan to appropriate their idea. She announces to her team that they will soon launch a divorce insurance policy.

Meanwhile, Ki-jun and Han-deul visit Mi-rae, a tarot card reader. The encounter is far from smooth as the insurance agents botch their attempt. Undeterred, Han-deul seeks guidance from the cards. The reading predicts that, despite challenges, the divorce insurance policy will achieve success. Mi-rae finds herself in a quandary and confesses that she still harbors love for her husband, Hyeon-jae, who is perpetually absent due to his work as a nature photographer, leaving her isolated.

Determined to track him down, Han-deul embarks on her quest, amusing Ki-jun with her proactive spirit. Their sole lead is that Hyeon-jae is on a hunt for South Korea's solitary tiger in the Gorangae region. They promptly decide to assemble the rest of their team.

Jeon-man, seeking relaxation, finds joy in twirling a yo-yo when Na-rae joins him, sharing a fleeting connection. However, their tranquil moment is disrupted when Ki-jun's call interrupts. In a comical twist, instead of hanging up, Jeon-man inadvertently switches to a video call while assisting Na-rae to her feet. The awkward scene, misinterpreted as an intimate embrace on the video call, prompts Ki-jun and Han-deul to hastily end the call, bursting into laughter as they recognize it as another accidental mishap, reminiscent of their earlier mattress escapade.

Arriving at the village, Ki-jun, Han-deul, and Ah-yeong are greeted by an unexpected sight – the head farmer, Woong-sik, dancing wildly. To Ah-yeong's dismay, she recognizes him instantly. Woong-sik, believing it to be a stroke of fate, amuses Ki-jun and Han-deul with his quirky perception.

Shifting focus back to their mission regarding Hyeon-jae, Woong-sik proposes two potential locations: one within the village and another deep in the woods. Cunningly, he convinces Ah-yeong to search the village with him, while our protagonists venture into the forest. Ki-jun endeavors to be chivalrous, yet it's Han-deul who ends up leading the charge, practically dragging him along as he struggles to keep pace.

As dusk descends and the heavens open up, casting a gentle rain over them, Ki-jun shields Han-deul with his jacket. Together, they sprint through the downpour, her heart fluttering with each step.

The episode of "The Divorce Insurance" concludes on a cliffhanger as they realize they've lost their way. Suddenly, a sound from behind piques their attention. To their astonishment, it's South Korea's only tiger, standing vigilant and majestic in their midst!
