Meanwhile, the group returns from Siegel’s burial, and Lorna is furious with Cisco for jeopardizing his safety with Gazarian. Cisco has planted a tracker on Jeanine’s car. Three weeks later, the team works diligently to gather information on the jurors. Mickey tricks Dana by using a color code with the given information, hoping she will peek when he leaves his notebook open. Maggie is unsure if this strategy will work, but figures time will tell.

Mickey and Maggie get cracking on the case to make a connection between Sam and Gazarian. Their theory is that Sam was killed by Gazarian because the BioGreen owner realized he was feeding the FBI information about him. They just need the evidence to prove their theory.

At the jail’s library, Mickey looks over files and details of his cases, hoping to figure out a winning play. An inmate asks for his help, but he initially turns him away. After realizing the inmate is in the same position as him, Mickey asks Lorna to take the case.

The inmate, Carter Gates, was falsely accused of killing his business partner for financial gain, the same charges as Mickey. He insists he’s an innocent man and wants to take a plea. Carter talks about the eyewitness, Rashad Harrison, who is a stock boy at CG Liquors.

Back in the courtroom, Dana accuses Mickey of withholding discovery. Judge Stone is frustrated with the never-ending discovery battles. Dana reveals that they weren’t aware of Sam’s address, but Mickey was. He even went through Sam’s belongings and told the landlady she could dispose of them.

Mickey defends his action, saying he wasn’t legally required to tell the prosecution about Sam’s address. It’s their job to look into Sam and why Mickey went to Arizona. The judge agrees, but Dana still believes that Sam Scales’s address was important.

Judge Stone warns Mickey about the dangers of withholding additional evidence without the prosecution or the court's knowledge, a concern that worries Maggie. Maggie and Dana deliver their opening statements to the jury, with Dana expressing her belief that Sam, despite his con artist ways, didn't deserve to die. Meanwhile, Cisco sets out to track down Gazarian using Lorna's car, while Izzy and Lorna question Rashad about the shooting of Carter's partner.

During Mickey's hearing, Dana interrogates Collins, Mickey's arresting officer, for hours. Mickey gets his chance to cross-examine him at the last minute and quickly sets a trap for Collins by asking if he was instructed by someone to go after him. Collins strongly denies this. Mickey then shows a video in court of Collins putting the car in drive before noticing Mickey's missing license plate. He follows up by asking about the buzzing sound and if it was a text. Collins says he can't recall receiving a text or a call.

Further, Mickey brings up the likely use of a burner phone, as seen on the video from the Demon Fox recording. This prompts Collins to admit to cheating and using a secret phone to talk to his lover. During Dana's rebuttal questioning, she redirects the conversation, and Officer Collins admits that he did not receive any call or text regarding Mickey and that it was all about his private business. The court adjourns, and Izzy is worried about Mickey and how being in jail could push him back to his old habits. Before leaving the court, Mickey mentions jury 68, and Dana seems shocked that she fell for his trap.

Elsewhere, Lorna argues with Cisco over the phone as he discloses that he is far away following up on Gazarian. She's furious that Cisco has taken over this route, more so by using her car. Lorna is frustrated because she's afraid that Cisco might get attacked again by Gazarian's men.

In jail, Bamba and Mickey attend an addicts' support group. After the meeting, an inmate attacks Mickey, and he defends himself. However, the guards pull him away and put him in solitary confinement.
