The Night Agent – Season 2 Episode 8 1

Switching to the present, Peter and Solomon navigate their way out of the bustling city, meticulously evading traffic cameras. Solomon dials Jacob, orchestrating a clandestine rendezvous. Jacob, upon meeting Peter, tasks him with an audacious mission: to infiltrate the United Nations offices and pilfer a sensitive case file stored on the Secretary General's computer. In exchange for Peter's daring feat, Jacob pledges to reveal the whereabouts of the buyer manufacturing the lethal chemical poison. As Peter departs, Jacob issues Solomon with instructions to shadow him discreetly.

Elsewhere, Mosley and Catherine converge at Dr. Cole's abode. Mosley inquires whether Peter has officially been branded a suspect, to which Catherine responds with a note of caution, emphasizing the need for further investigation. Mosley clarifies that Foxglove is no longer within Night Action's purview, but Peter most certainly is.

Meanwhile, Dr. Cole and Rose find themselves escorted to a mobile chemical laboratory, where they don protective gear. Rose adopts the guise of Cole's research assistant with convincing ease. Markus, with a sinister agenda, compels them to synthesize K.X, a toxic poison devoid of an antidote. He wields the professor's family as a chilling threat, leaving Cole and Rose with no viable alternative but to oblige. To commence the perilous process, Cole meticulously guides Rose through each step, and they embark on crafting an initial batch. As they delve deeper into their grim task, Tomas's conscience gnaws at him over the impending massacre. Markus, unrelenting, orders him to uncover leverage against Rose. After his encounter with Jacob, Peter places a call to Noor, offering yet another heartfelt apology. He then broaches the subject of a favor, to which she reluctantly agrees, stipulating that their discussion must take place face-to-face. They settle on a clandestine meeting in the basement, unaware that Noor has other plans in store for Peter.

When they finally converge, Peter requests a security card that would grant him unfettered access to the UN building. Conversely, Noor seizes the opportunity to inquire about her mother's wellbeing. Peter promptly facilitates a call between the two women by dialing Saidi's number. Following her heartfelt conversation, Noor confesses to Peter that Javad and his men are lurking nearby, poised to strike.

The duo devises a swift and cunning plan to outmaneuver Javad and his henchmen. Peter hands Noor a stun gun, which she subtly employs against one of the guards escorting her back to the embassy, while Peter engages Javad in a fierce confrontation, successfully diverting his attention away from Noor.

This strategic maneuver buys Noor the precious time she needs to return to the embassy and craft a key card for the UN for Peter. Just as she prepares to make a swift exit, Abbas intercepts her path.

Ever the resourceful young woman, Noor employs her wits to persuade Abbas to let her be, vowing to alert his daughter to the imminent danger threatening her life. Abbas, whose daughter fled Iran years ago for love and has since become a vocal critic of the Iranian government, finds himself torn. Ultimately, he accepts Noor's proposition, releasing her in exchange for the list of Iranian dissidents in peril. He promises to buy her enough time to reach the UN sanctuary.

Meanwhile, back at the chemical lab, Tomas confronts Rose with accusations of deceit regarding her true identity. He has discovered the Foxglove files hidden in her belongings and demands to know how she obtained them. For years, his family has been in relentless pursuit of such incriminating evidence. Rose attempts to feign ignorance, claiming that the FBI is on its way to intervene, but her lie rings hollow in the face of Tomas's steely determination to uncover the truth.

Tomas calls her bluff, insisting on the truth with unwavering determination. Rose, sensing the gravity of the situation, persuades him to take the moral high ground and intervene to halt the impending chemical attack. Reluctantly consenting, Tomas tasks Cole with slowing down the treacherous process once a viable solution presents itself. However, fate takes a dark turn as Markus, uncovering their clandestine scheme, employs the pilot batch as a lethal weapon, claiming Tomas's life.

Grieving the loss of Javad, Peter retreats to his safe haven, only to find Catherine awaiting him there, a gun at her side. He dares her, challenging her to either pull the trigger or flee for her life. Catherine's resolve wavers, and seizing the moment, Peter confines her to the bathroom before rushing off to seek Noor's aid. Noor, ever resolute, agrees to assist Peter in reaching the United Nations, on one condition: she must accompany him every step of the way.
