Meanwhile, in the cramped confines of the prison, chaos erupted when the guards realized Mo Eun was nowhere to be found. Baek Dong-hun's brow furrowed in concern as he too learned of the situation. Jeong-gu, alerted by a ping of unease, picked up Sop from their home and joined Bae Sun-deok at the hospital where Yun-su now lay admitted.
The cops, eager to pin something on Yun-su for her defiant stand against them, were ready to charge her with obstruction. But Jeong-gu, with the help of Jin Young-in's savvy, secured CCTV footage that showed the intruder entering her yard. This footage, a testament to Yun-su's self-defense, left the cops speechless and they reluctantly backed down from their charges.
Yun-su's mind raced as she made her way home, trying to decipher if the hooded figure was indeed Mo Eun or a ruse. As she navigates through the studio, her gaze falls upon a painting he had created of her back, igniting a flurry of memories. She scours through the photos on her phone until she catches a glimpse of Seo-won in the background of one of the images. She tries to reach out to her, but the number is no longer in service. Yun-su ventures to Seo-won's house but learns that she left with all her belongings a few days ago.
Dong-hun pays a visit to Mo Eun in prison, seeking any information he can get from her. However, she remains tight-lipped. Mo Eun's trial soon commences, and Yun-su sits in another room, watching everything unfold on screen. As Jin Young-is delivers his opening statement, Mo Eun turns to the camera in front of her and whispers, "There's not much time left. Don't try and get smart." Dong-hun catches this and urges the prosecution to review the footage. Mo Eun speaks up then and reveals what she said. The episode ends with the judge asking her why she said what she did, while at the same time, Yun-su's ears ring with a chilling warning.
