In the sixth episode of "The Price of Confession," Mo Eun explains to the judge that her words about suicide were mere self-talk, vague comments in the air. However, Jeong-gu notices a palpable shudder pass through Yun-su's demeanor. As Mo Eun is being led away, an elderly man named Mr. Ko steps forward, imploring her to keep her word about ending her own life. This man, a family member of Mo Eun's victims, is the grandfather of Ko Se-hun, the dentist couple's son.
Later, Yun-su follows Mr. Ko as he drops off his grandson at school. Se-hun exits the premises shortly thereafter, chooses to play games at home instead of attending classes, and returns to school in the evening. Another student slips him a wad of cash just before his grandfather picks him up again, all of which Yun-su observes from afar.
Meanwhile, Jeong-gu delves deeper into evidence to prove Yun-su's innocence. He and Jin Young-in visit the forensic lab, where a worker shows them the shards of two wine bottles found at the crime scene. When the worker refuses to examine them without proper authorization, Jeong-gu and Young-in separate the glass shards themselves, determined to find out if Ki-dae's blood was found on the bottle that Yun-su had brought.
During a meeting with Bae Sun-deok, Yun-su learns that the court has decided to overlook the incident in which she broke her night curfew. But should she violate another rule, her bail will be revoked. She also discovers that the probation officer has a map of all her movements, including all the times she's followed Se-hun. As she heads downstairs, Yun-su shares the elevator with Se-hun, who appears to be at the office for work related to his parents' death.
She follows him to the parking lot and reaches into her bag for something, but a car honks and she freezes in her tracks. She then returns to Sun-deok's office pretending to want ttoekbeokki with her. But when Sun-deok steps out, Yun-su quickly accesses information on Se-hun on her laptop and takes pictures of it. Back home, Yun-su conducts research and discovers that Se-hun was accused of selling illegal videos with sexual content.
In prison, all the inmates are brought to the auditorium to watch a movie. When Mo Eun goes to the bathroom, a massive brawl erupts. She emerges to see a group of inmates bullying Pudgy, but their actions escalate until Pudgy stops responding. Mo Eun steps in and begins hitting Pudgy on the chest in an attempt to revive her. Unfortunately, a prison guard named Ms. Eom mistakes her for an attacker and knocks her unconscious. When she wakes up, the doctor explains to the officers that Mo Eun saved the other girl's life.
Later, Yun-su discovers an impression of a watch on the desk in the studio, a subtle clue that piques her curiosity. She shares this discovery with Jeong-gu, who then requests Young-in to fetch Mo Eun's watch to see if there's a match. Naturally, Mo Eun resists parting with it, and Yun-su soon receives text messages urging her to cease her investigation and focus on her duties.
In a hushed discussion with the lawyers, Yun-su receives a call from Mo Eun's kindergarten teacher, informing her that Sol has gone missing during a school trip to a shopping center. We witness Sop holding an adult's hand as Yun-su frantically searches for her. The adult turns out to be none other than Pudgy, recently released from prison. She returns Sop to Yun-su, accompanied by a warning from Mo Eun. Jeong-gu senses something amiss with Pudgy's explanation, but Yun-su insists on letting her go.
That night, Yun-su disables her ankle monitor and calls the probation office, claiming it broke when she fell off her bike. She then heads to Se-hun's house, posing as a gas inspector. He returns to his video game, unaware of her presence, but she sneaks up behind him. However, he catches on and recognizes her from their previous encounter in the elevator at the probation office. They engage in a fierce struggle, and she ends up choking him until he passes out. She then stabs him with the knife.
