In parallel, Hsin-yi, catching sight of Jin Jin's social media updates, approaches her mother, Ching, with a proposition. She inquires about the possibility of traveling abroad to earn some money, hoping to alleviate their financial burdens. Despite their precarious financial situation, Ching firmly denies Hsin-yi's request, unwilling to let her daughter venture so far.

The narrative then shifts to the present day, where Hui-chun and Ching find themselves face-to-face with Officer Li. They implore him to release Shih-kai's body to them. Initially hesitant, the officer eventually acquiesces, demanding a monetary exchange for the remains.

A flashback reveals Ching's professional downfall. As an insurance agent, she finds herself jobless, her inability to manage clients effectively exacerbated by the recent tragic loss of her daughter.

Simultaneously, Hui-chun is dealt a devastating blow when she uncovers her husband's infidelity. Kuo-chiang has been living with another woman, who is now pregnant with his child, while Hui-chun remains by the side of their comatose daughter, Jin Jin.

Returning to the present, Ching crosses paths with Mr. Hsu, a local reporter. She convinces him to pen an article from the perspectives of Hsin-yi and Jin Jin, aiming to shed light on their struggles.

Seizing the opportunity, Ching escorts Mr. Hsu to meet her boss. With the reporter by her side, she issues a stark ultimatum: expose the insurance company's fraudulent history to the public or face the consequences. Fearing the repercussions, Ching's boss agrees to compensate her financially in exchange for her silence.

Later that same day, Kuo-chiang makes his way to the hospital, where Hui-chun is diligently tending to their daughter's wounds. Upon arrival, Kuo-chiang's demeanor is one of palpable disgust towards his own flesh and blood. He coldly refuses to hand over the money Hui-chun desperately needs to care for Jin Jin, instead suggesting she dip into the funds generated from Jin Jin's YouTube channel.

In a bold and desperate move, Hui-chun follows Kuo-chiang back to his hotel room and covertly steals his passport. The couple later convenes at a restaurant, where Hui-chun, her resolve steel, proposes a divorce. She lays out her demands with unwavering certainty, threatening to unleash a scandal that could tarnish Kuo-chiang's reputation and cripple his business partnerships. Her ultimatum is clear: sign over his apartment to her.

That night, under the cover of darkness, Hui-chun and Ching gather the money they had promised Officer Li and devise a plan to conceal Shih-kai's lifeless body. Meanwhile, Officer Li engages in a clandestine deal with the cremators, who agree to fake Shih-kai's cremation and present his mother with a false urn of ashes.

The mothers, in a macabre twist of fate, decide to use Hui-chun's convenience store as a makeshift prison for Shih-kai, a place where they can exact their vengeance without fear of discovery. Hui-chun, ever the strategist, tests the soundproofing of the store, only to discover that the owner of the neighboring pharmacy, Pong, can hear every noise emanating from within.

Knowing Pong's penchant for selling illicit substances, Hui-chun orchestrates his arrest, buying them a few precious days of solitude. With Pong out of the picture, the women transform the convenience store into a chamber of horrors, eagerly awaiting Officer Li's delivery of Shih-kai's corpse.

That fateful night, Ching and Hui-chun transport Shih-kai's lifeless form to the temple, where the goddess, unmoved by their pleas, initially refuses to grant him life. In a desperate act of deception, Ching pretends that Shih-kai is her beloved husband, evoking sympathy from the divine. The episode culminates in a miraculous twist as the goddess, swayed by Ching's tears and lies, breathes life back into Shih-kai's cold, unresponsive body.
