Shih-kai, with a cold and calculating demeanor, hands Pong a sum of money, enlisting the foreigner's services to bury a young girl who met a tragic end after leaping from a building. That very night, fate intertwines Pong's path with Hsin-yi's, who is desperately attempting to flee her circumstances. Sensing her desperation, Pong extends a helping hand, but Hsin-yi is resolute—she won't leave without her companions, Jin Jin and An-chi. She implores Pong to return the following night, so that the trio can make a daring escape from the complex together.

True to his word, Pong awaits Hsin-yi the next night, who arrives with Jin Jin and An-chi in tow. As Pong navigates past the vigilant security guards, his truck is abruptly halted by Shih-kai's intervention. The girls are forcibly ushered back inside the complex, and the ominous sound of a gunshot reverberates through the air.

The narrative then shifts back to the present day, where Pong is sharing a meal with Ching, Hui-chun, and Eason. The women, with a guise of innocence, concoct a tale to mislead the men about their role in Shih-kai's miraculous resurrection. Later that night, tensions rise as Kuo-chiang demands the return of his passport from Hui-chun, only to be met with refusal and a plea to visit Jin Jin more frequently.

The following morning, Eason, brimming with anticipation, asks Christina to meet his mother once again and pops the life-changing question—marriage. Christina, overjoyed by the prospect, is further elated when she receives a call from her mother, Mrs. Chung, instructing her to come and collect a staggering one million dollars.

Meanwhile, chaos erupts at a prayer meeting as Hui-chun stages a dramatic scene in front of fellow worshippers. She beseeches the pastor, known as Master, to conduct another ritual in hopes of awakening Jin Jin from her coma. Mrs. Chung, skeptical of the ritual's efficacy, pulls Hui-chun aside for a private conversation, probing into her true intentions.

In a revelation that sends shockwaves, Hui-chun confides in Mrs. Chung that her son is indeed alive and presents the incriminating video recorded by Shih-kai as proof. With a mixture of desperation and cunning, she demands that Mrs. Chung bring forty million dollars in cash to a clandestine location later that night, in exchange for Shih-kai's freedom—and perhaps, the key to unraveling the mysteries that shroud their lives.

The episode flashes back to 2019. Mrs. Chung discovers Shih-kai partying wildly in Taipei, even though he had just been arrested. Concerned for her son's well-being, she approaches Master, Shih-kai's loyal bodyguard, seeking answers.

Back in the present, I-chen approaches Ching with a chilling request: to have Shih-kai eliminated once the demands of the civil lawsuit are settled. She reveals her deep-seated fear for An-chi and her unborn child, who she believes are living under constant threat. Ching, suspicious, probes whether An-chi is more deeply entwined with Shih-kai than she lets on. I-chen vehemently denies any connection, insisting her daughter is innocent.

Skeptical, Ching demands that I-chen gather more incriminating evidence on Mrs. Chung's charity front, the Tai Chi Association, and its alleged involvement in money laundering. Meanwhile, Christina arrives at the charity home in a fury, demanding her money back. When Mrs. Chung claims she'll need a few days to arrange it, Christina gives her mother a stern ultimatum: one hour to hand over the cash. Master, ever vigilant, promptly locks her up.

In another part of town, Pong engages Shih-kai in a tense conversation about their upcoming meeting with a prison contact. He reveals a shocking truth: someone close to Shih-kai had orchestrated his arrest and planned his execution from the very beginning.

Simultaneously, Eason reminds Christina of their dinner plans with his mother that evening, urging her to be punctual. Ching, meanwhile, drives Shih-kai to the designated spot where Hui-chun had instructed Mrs. Chung to bring the forty million dollars. They execute a swift car swap, and Ching speeds off with the cash.

However, Mrs. Chung has other plans. She leads Shih-kai to a remote, isolated area and attempts to set him ablaze. Just as the flames lick at the edges of his clothing, Pong bursts out of the shadows, gun in hand, and unveils his mother's sinister plot to Shih-kai. Mrs. Chung, desperate, offers Pong an additional million dollars to kill her own son. Without hesitation, Pong pockets the money and flees the scene with Shih-kai in tow.

Meanwhile, Christina manages to break free from her confinement and rushes to the hotel, arriving fashionably late. Eason confronts her, revealing that he knows she's Shih-kai's sister and expressing his displeasure at her deceit. In an attempt to win her over, he empathizes with her plight, and Christina, moved, agrees to try and locate Shih-kai's elusive crypto wallet for Eason.

Later, Eason breaks the news to Hui-chun while they're both at the hospital. A poignant moment lingers between Hui-chun and Eason, hanging in the air like a delicate bubble, before An-chi suddenly arrives to pay Jin Jin a visit. An-chi then drops a bombshell on Hui-chun, revealing that Jin Jin had been Shih-kai’s girlfriend and had deceived her own mother. Driven by a mix of emotions, Hui-chun rushes home to examine Jin Jin’s passport, and the evidence is damning—it shows trips to Taipei that predate An-chi’s own visits.

That very night, a restless Hui-chun confides in Ching about An-chi’s startling claims. In a moment of desperation, Ching proposes a macabre solution: kill and resurrect Jin Jin to uncover the truth. The suggestion sends shivers down Hui-chun’s spine, leaving her utterly appalled.

But Ching persists, her voice tinged with bitterness as she points out that she, unlike Hui-chun, never had the chance to bid a proper farewell to her daughter, Hsin-yi. Meanwhile, in a parallel act of subterfuge, Christina sneakily pilfers the crypto wallet from her mother’s secure safe. However, her stealth is short-lived as she unexpectedly bumps into An-chi, setting the stage for a dramatic climax as the episode draws to a close.
