Episode 4 of *The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon* Season 4 opens with Roberto learning of Justina's sudden departure. Daryl's mind flashes back to his own childhood, recalling the moment he fled in terror when his abusive father unleashed a storm of rage. Consumed by frustration and fear, Roberto demands answers, lashing out at Daryl and Carol for being the catalysts behind Justina's vanishing act. Meanwhile, even Fede—who usually masks his emotions—shows signs of genuine concern for her, though he tries to maintain a stoic exterior.
Determined to press forward, Daryl and Carol shift their focus to repairing the boat, a vital lifeline for their journey. Daryl rummages through Antonio’s place, taking whatever supplies he deems necessary. While Antonio doesn’t raise any objections, Carol feels compelled to apologize, her guilt evident. She also voices her curiosity about why Fede and Antonio seem to disapprove of Justina and Roberto, but Antonio simply replies that the situation is more complex than it appears.
Despite his earlier promise, Roberto ultimately withdraws from the plan, insisting he won’t venture to the USA alone. As the day wears on, Valentina and her friends step in to assist with the boat repairs. Roberto, however, remains sullen and withdrawn, prompting Antonio to encourage him to let go of the past and move forward.
Carol continues to wrestle with her guilt over Justina’s absence, but Daryl adopts a seemingly callous demeanor. Haunted by the loss of Isabelle, he is reluctant to form new attachments, insisting that they must prioritize their own survival instead of fighting for others. Carol, ever the moral compass, argues that doing the right thing should remain their guiding principle, leading to a tense but honest exchange.
In an attempt to diffuse the tension, Valentina shifts the conversation, suggesting her American sailor friend, Cooper, join Daryl and Carol on their journey back home. Daryl tries to decline the offer, but Valentina playfully teases Carol about having a stubborn boyfriend. Both Carol and Daryl laugh, clarifying that they are not romantically involved.
Later, Fede attempts to bridge the gap with Roberto, offering a gesture of solidarity in their shared grief over Justina’s departure. He admits he doesn’t understand why Justina chose to leave so abruptly and cryptically remarks that loved ones often keep secrets. At this, he and Antonio exchange pointed, bitter glances, hinting at deeper, unresolved tensions.
On the beach, chaos erupts as a group of bandits launches a surprise attack. Though Daryl and the others quickly neutralize the threat, Cooper falls victim to the violence. Meanwhile, Paz is lost in thoughts of Elena when more bandits converge outside Solaz. The town braces itself for confrontation, the ominous toll of the warning bell echoing through the air.
News of the trouble reaches as far as the beach, prompting Daryl and Carol to hastily make their way back to Solaz. Despite Daryl's insistence that their return is solely to ensure Roberto's safety, their arrival is met with a scene of utter chaos. The town has been overrun by a horde of bandits and walkers, creating a disaster of epic proportions.
In the ensuing mayhem, Carol and Daryl find themselves separated. Daryl, driven by a sense of urgency, rushes headlong to Roberto's aid. Meanwhile, Carol comes to the rescue of Fede, who has sustained severe injuries. Suddenly, the sky is filled with flaming projectiles carrying walkers, which are then launched into the heart of the town. The streets quickly become engulfed in flames and swarming with burning walkers.
Just when all hope seems lost, automatic weapons wielded by the Alliance members make their appearance, decisively eliminating both the bandits and the walkers. However, the aftermath is filled with tension and recrimination. Roberto, overcome with emotion, laments that their sacrifices have been for naught since the Alliance failed to protect them. Fede, on the other hand, counters by pointing out that it was the Alliance's firepower that ultimately saved the town.
Their debate is abruptly cut short by the arrival of Daryl and Paz, who have managed to capture one of the bandits. The captured bandit reveals that he hails from a group known as Los Primitivos, and that their sole aim is the destruction of the Alliance.
Amidst the distraction, Roberto seizes the opportunity to slip away, heading towards Alcazar in a desperate bid to save Justina. A Solaz gunman, sensing danger, attempts to take Roberto's life, but Daryl intervenes just in time to save him. Fede, seething with anger, fears that Roberto's actions could not only jeopardize the Alliance but also spell doom for both himself and Justina.
Determined to prevent further disaster, Antonio resolves to stop Roberto. Carol, ever the ally, offers to assist him in this endeavor. Despite Daryl's attempts to dissuade her, Carol remains steadfast in her decision, prompting Daryl to reluctantly join her.
Meanwhile, Justina finds herself at an Alcazar campsite when she catches sight of an unidentified figure. Back in Solaz, Fede is at loggerheads with his own people, who are adamant about executing the captured bandit. However, Fede, guided by a belief in fate, chooses to leave the bandit to his fate among the bandit walkers.
As Antonio, Carol, and Daryl press on, they come across Roberto's overturned truck. Among the wreckage, they discover Justina's compass, a glimmer of hope in the midst of despair. A flashback reveals that Roberto and Justina did indeed reunite in the woods and attempted to make their escape, only to be captured by a group of men.
