Episode 5 of Turn of the Tide Season 3 commences with Frias's unexpected arrival at the booth of the inebriated couple at the market. She begins by asking a series of questions, testing their voices against the voicemail, causing them to feel uneasy. However, she refrains from harming them in the midst of the crowd. Eduardo expresses his desire to take legal action, but Frias explains that their statements are hearsay and lack concrete evidence. In a ploy to gain their trust, Eduardo pretends to allow them to join the Night Vigilantes. He lures them into drinking spiked drinks, and Frias secures them with ties. However, she compels Eduardo to assist her in the torture, reminding him that she wasn't there for Mariana because she was pursuing Eduardo. The couple is subjected to extreme torture until they repeat their statements from the voicemail. A flashback reveals Billy Bob making those statements after discovering a file in Frias's desk. As they prepare to leave, Mariana's voice is heard, causing a sudden shift in their plans.

Present-day, Frias forces Eduardo to drive as she demands that the couple lead her to Mariana's body. They insist that it was an accident and will testify against Banha, who hired them. However, Frias seeks to hear how Billy Bob was tortured after Mariana's murder, prompting him to make up stories. The car lurches, and Bruna's pepper spray reaches Billy Bob, who conceals it.
Meanwhile, Francisco presents Banha with CCTV footage from Cruz's living room and asks if he recognizes the drunk couple responsible for Cruz's death. Banha appears troubled by this revelation.
In the woods, Frias commands the couple to dig for Mariana's body. Eduardo hesitates to handle a gun, and she points out that he has done worse. She muses about being cursed, always chasing someone, and how her workaholic tendencies have kept her away from her family. She tells Eduardo that they are not mere victims but are responsible for whatever has happened to them. On this note, Eduardo begs her to drop her vengeance and be there for her second daughter, Sara, but she resolutely refuses.
To halt their progress, the couple digs haphazardly, uncertain of Mariana's whereabouts as her body has decomposed beyond recognition. Suddenly, an earthquake rocks the ground and rain begins to pour down. In the chaos that ensues, the couple flees, with Frias shooting Billy Bob in the shoulder and pursuing Natercia. They engage in a fierce battle, with Natercia using pepper spray to gain the upper hand, but ultimately, Frias emerges victorious.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, the couple surrenders and finally locates Mariana's grave. What remains is a mere skeleton of her former self, with only her clothes and necklace serving as a testament to her existence. Frias breaks down in tears, with Billy insisting that it was all an accident. However, Frias is unmoved and mercilessly kills the couple. Flashbacks reveal that the couple had lured Mariana into a false sense of security before killing her to conceal their identities.
Meanwhile, Eduardo rushes off to warn Bruna that Banha is in danger and that he is on his way to her. A tearful Frias attempts to call Sara, but her husband refuses to let them speak so late at night. Her phone is in her hand when we cut to Francisco receiving a call from the Director.
Bruna alerts her father, who instructs her to leave immediately. Eduardo arrives at her residence and finds Banha waiting with a gun, assuming Eduardo is targeting him. Frias appears and is about to pull out her phone when Banha kills her, thinking she was about to shoot him. Francisco arrives and arrests both Banha and Eduardo. At the precinct, Banha insists that he never wanted this to happen, and Eduardo echoes the same sentiment. We see several dead fish by the coast, foreshadowing the impending tragedy.
