Typhoon Family – K-drama Episode 11 1

At home, Tae-poong shares his thoughts with Jeong-mi, wondering if his father's worries went beyond the business when he passed away. Tae-poong suspects that there was something more than just losing a client at play.

At work, the Typhoon team is enjoying a meal when Song-jung makes a bold declaration that Mi-seon has a crush on him, which irritates Tae-poong. Seon-taek joins them for the meal and learns that Tae-poong has been going through the old ledgers.

While Mi-seon and Ma-jin are out on a work assignment, Tae-poong delves into the Public Procurement Services (PPS), which is handled by the government. At the PPS office, Tae-poong overhears a man claiming to be from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and follows him to a room filled with people. It turns out to be a meeting between the KOICA and an African delegation for the construction of schools and hospitals in Africa. Tae-poong observes that the project requires a number of items supplied by various vendors, except for one crucial item - surgical gloves.

Back at the office, Tae-poong proposes that they provide the surgical gloves since a government project comes with certain assurances. But Ma-jin argues that such deals always go to big companies. Seon-taek, who is visiting the office at that moment, adds that Kang Jin-young and Koo Myung-gwan had once worked on a public sector project. Meanwhile, Nam-mo's mother is now working as a cleaning lady at the shopping center where Mi-ho works, unaware that Mi-ho is fixing Eul-nyeo's hair - little does anyone know that Eul-nyeo is actually Nam-mo's mother.

Tae-poong and Mi-seon come across Myung-gwan distributing flyers for a religious group that venerates The Prophet. They follow him to the group's church, where the leader preaches to his followers that on January 1, 2000, all computers will malfunction, and nuclear missiles will usher in the end of the world. Tae-poong and Mi-seon attempt to engage Myung-gwan in conversation, but are instead met with an unceremonious dismissal from the premises.

As they make their way back, Tae-poong confides in Mi-seon that he is pursuing this deal as a last-ditch effort to secure a reliable client and give his company a fighting chance at success. Over dinner, Mi-seon reveals her aspiration to focus on her career and rejects the emotional comfort Tae-poong offers, asking him to keep his romantic feelings at bay for now.

Meanwhile, Mi-ho pays a visit to Nam-mo at his workplace, the textiles accessories market. She shares her ambition to earn enough money to send her sister to college, and Nam-mo, in turn, declares Mi-ho his new dream.

Back at the Seoul Office of Public Procurement Services (PPS), the woman in charge notices Typhoon Trading on the list of bidders for surgical gloves. Given their small size, she instructs her employees to remove them from the list. Typhoon Trading receives a fax confirming the same. To their surprise, Myung-gwan pays a surprise visit, attempting to distribute more flyers to his former colleagues.

Upon seeing the fax, he advises Tae-poong to file an appeal on grounds of discrimination. They do so, and since no other company has submitted a bid for surgical gloves, the woman in charge invites Typhoon Trading to submit their offer. The employees are elated, and Tae-poong once again asks Myung-gwan to return to work, but he turns down the offer and walks away. Back in his church, Myung-gwan pleads with the lord to shield them from a fate similar to his own.

As the night deepened, Tae-poong was hard at work when Seon-taek paid him another visit. She inquired if Kang Jin-young had left any special messages, to which Tae-poong replied in the negative. They engaged in light conversation, with Tae-poong making a curious remark about the files being reorganized in a manner reminiscent of Seon-taek's old methods. A subtle hint, as it turned out, that Seon-taek herself had been the one to rearrange them, though Tae-poong was unaware.

At the PPS, Hyun-jun witnessed Tae-poong and Mi-seon engaged in a bidding war for surgical gloves, while Pyo Merchant Marines had initially intended to bid for orange juice. Hyun-jun's swift change of plans meant that the two companies would now compete for the PPS's favor based on who could offer the lower price.

Mi-seon encountered a new hurdle when she discovered that the manual for the gloves had been painstakingly translated into French on scraps of post-its. This necessitated finding a keyboard with the Latin alphabet to type and print the manual. Tae-poong located one, and Bae Song-jung diligently typed it all out, only to discover that the printer did not support the required font.

With only a few hours left to submit all the necessary documents, they found themselves in a predicament. At this critical juncture, Koo Myung-gwan stepped in to save the day. He neatly handwrote the entire document in French and completed it on time.

Afterward, the team ventured out for dinner and drinks. When Myung-gwan briefly stepped away, Tae-poong confided in him that he needed someone with experience on his team. As they walked home after dinner, Tae-poong unburdened his heart to Mi-seon, confessing that he couldn't ignore his feelings anymore. He declared his love for her, albeit unrequited.
