In the twelfth episode of "Would You Marry Me," Sang-hyun is meticulously perusing confidential documents, his mind reeling with the words of Sung-woo's father. Sung-woo unapologetically lies, their friendship reduced to a mere pretense.

Would You Marry Me – K-drama Episode 12 1

Sang-hyun takes the fall for Beaute's corrupt deals, and before serving his time in prison, he entrusts Jin-gyeong with the care of his pets. Their correspondence is maintained through letters. Once released, Jin-gyeong invites him as her date to Woo-joo and Me-ri's wedding.

As for Woo-ju, the toxic ex, he never gets the chance to hold his press conference. The audience saw him merely practicing his speech in the previous episode. Me-ri tries to reach out to him, but he ignores her calls. When Sung-woo learns of a man set to reveal the raffle con, he dispatches his legal team to deal with Woo-ju, promising a lawsuit if he dares mention Beaute. No one bothers to verify Woo-ju's truth; Sung-woo is more concerned with mitigating any further negative press. He orders his secretary to gift the house to Me-ri.

Meanwhile, Me-ri arrives at the press conference to find Sung-woo's lawyers roughing up Woo-ju. Woo-ju assumes it's her doing and begs her for help. Me-ri explains she's not involved in the defamation suit and challenges him to let go of the past and their bitter memories. In a sense, she offers him closure he never deserved. Woo-ju decides to focus on himself and never reveals the truth about Woo-joo and Me-ri to the media.

As Me-ri's truth spills out, she feels a weight lifted from her shoulders, a sense of relief washing over her. Meanwhile, Woo-joo devises a plan for her to meet Pil-nyeon and confess their missteps. However, fate has other plans as Woo-ju's mother and sister beat them to it. They visit Pil-nyeon, casting aspersions on Me-ri in a bid to sabotage their relationship. The visit leads to Pil-nyeon canceling her meeting with Me-ri. Woo-joo tries to explain the situation to his grandma, but she requests time to ponder.

Upon learning of Woo-ju's family's actions, Me-ri's mother and sister pay them a visit, resulting in a heated confrontation as Me-ri's family seeks to teach Woo-ju's family a lesson. As the weeks pass, Me-ri and Woo-joo gradually drift apart due to their respective work commitments. Me-ri begins to feel insecure as Pil-nyeon continues to refuse to meet with her.

But Woo-joo does his utmost to reassure her that everything will be alright. Finally, Pil-nyeon sends Mi-yeon and Eung-soo to secretly visit Me-ri's mother. This revelation leads them to realize they may have been too hasty in their judgment of Me-ri. Pil-nyeon grants Woo-joo her blessing and a proposal ring, and with his grandma's approval, Woo-joo proposes to Me-ri, who eagerly accepts. Later, Me-ri meets Pil-nyeon and promises to do better in the future.

In the meantime, Pil-nyeon entrusts Woo-joo with running the company while Eung-soo decides to start his own game company. And so, Would You Marry Me ends on a happy note as we witness Woo-joo and Me-ri walking down the aisle, surrounded by guests. Among them is Sang-hyun, who arrives as Jin-gyeong's date—unfortunately, we never get to see their dating era.
