Eager to blend in with their new surroundings, they diligently embarked on learning English, even embracing local proverbs. However, their efforts to assimilate were met with a chilly reception. Neighbors were far from welcoming, often barking orders, urging them to return to where they came from. This unsettling treatment drove them to embrace Christianity, a decision that echoed in Manjit's life when he converted to marry Suman.

The scene shifts, focusing on Josephine, Dusty, and Kelly as they arrive at Reena's house for the dinner party. But the scowls on Kelly and Jo's faces are far from inviting, hinting that their intentions are far from friendly. It's clear they've come not for a pleasant evening of dining, but to stir up trouble for Reena and her loved ones.

Suman felt a lingering unease about Jo, but Manjit reassured her with a calming smile, assuring her that everything was under control and there was no need to fret. Meanwhile, while Jo kept Suman occupied with idle chatter, Kelly sneaked around the house, her curiosity getting the better of her.

At dinner, Manjit attempted to keep the conversation light and cheerful, discussing family anecdotes and various topics, but Reena's mood darkened with each passing moment. When Manjit expressed empathy for Jo and her struggles, Josephine lashed out, her temper flaring. She spat out an insult, calling Manjit a "retard" to his face, leaving him stunned. Reena tried to intervene, but it was too late; Jo and Kelly stormed out of the dinner, leaving a tense silence in their wake.

Later, it was discovered that Suman's earrings were missing, but Reena staunchly defended Jo and Kelly, insisting that they would never do such a thing. However, Manjit's trust had been shaken, and he forbade Reena from associating with the girls from Seven Oaks ever again.

The next day, Reena visited Seven Oaks to bid them farewell, but little did she know that Jo had a twisted plan in mind. On Jo's orders, Reena was coerced into making a shocking confession to the police - that her father, Manjit, had been molesting her. The accusation was like a bombshell, and Manjit was dragged out of his house by the police, his reputation in tatters. Meanwhile, Reena was given a room in Seven Oaks, where she could now live with the girls, but at what cost?
