During their date, Malcolm excuses himself to mediate an argument between two men at the bar. Faith activates the camera and alerts the surveillance team. After resolving the conflict, Malcolm returns and explains that his employee and childhood friend, Winston, was merely acting out. They head back to his residence, and Faith deactivates the camera.

Upon arriving, the tension rises as Malcolm pours out his heart, confessing his love. Meanwhile, Angie overhears Seth discussing a surprise wedding with his sisters, though he seems uncertain about Angie's eagerness to marry. She plays ignorant and informs him about the ongoing investigation into Biosentia Pharmaceuticals. He promises to dig deeper at the hospital about the company.

Elsewhere, Ornewood briefs Amanda on the identities of the two men who were arguing at the bar. One is Winston, a chef at Malcolm's restaurant who is believed to be part of his bank-robbing gang. The other man is Clinton, who works for a security company contracted with Biosentia Pharmaceuticals.

Seth arrives, breaking the news to Angie that one of Biosentia's products, Evalia, has been rumored to have caused at least a dozen deaths. The families affected attempted to sue the company, but the suit was dismissed due to insufficient evidence. Amanda and Trent summon the CEO of Biosentia, quickly realizing that Malcolm's gang is planning to blackmail the company. Later, Angie enlists Franklin's help in planning a surprise wedding, eager to marry Seth as soon as possible. Franklin gladly assists and encourages Angie to focus on her wedding vows. Meanwhile, Franklin follows Winston and acts gay when his cover is about to be blown.

At Malcolm's house, Faith discovers a tactical map, suspecting that Malcolm is planning to meet with Neville, the CEO of Biosentia. Winston arrives and accuses her of snooping, but she doesn't deny it, mentioning that she was only admiring a painting. Winston teases her about her ignorance of Quinton's art. Shortly after, Malcolm's dad and Mauricio arrive at the house. Faith records their conversation on her camera necklace, unaware that Winston is distrustful of her and anxious about the bank heist investigation.

Faith interrupts the conversation, and Winston pulls out his gun. The situation escalates quickly, but the police arrive and arrest everyone, including Faith. In remand, Faith acts angry and confronts Malcolm, who quickly apologizes and promises to fix everything. He reveals the tragic death of his son, Quinton, who died after heart surgery. Faith realizes that Malcolm intentionally targeted Biosentia because he blames them for Quinton's death.

Amanda brings Faith to her office and orders her to end things with Malcolm. After their release, Faith breaks up with him. Elsewhere, Angie and Trent have a moment of closure when he finds her working on her wedding vows in the toilet.

Later, they convened for a brief meeting to discuss the revelations Wyatt had shared with the DEA. They finally received confirmation that Neville was indeed aware of the defective drugs and had ordered Wyatt to cover it up. They deduced that Malcolm, one of the individuals affected, sought revenge.

As they spoke, Amanda collapsed in her chair and was swiftly rushed to the hospital. Faith dropped by to see her and was relieved to find out that it wasn't serious, but Amanda needed to take it easy. Faith confessed her conflicting feelings for Malcolm, and Amanda comforted her.

Unfortunately, Winston kidnapped Faith as she was leaving the hospital. At the station, everyone prepared for a raid on the meeting between Neville and Malcolm's gang.

On the other hand, Winston had Malcolm confront Faith about her true identity. The situation became tense when Winston pulled out his gun on her, leading to a fight that ended with Malcolm killing Winston. Faith tried to convince him to surrender, but he left her tied up in a shed.

As planned, Malcolm met with Neville and received the money first. He then confronted Neville, ready to kill him. Thankfully, Faith was able to free herself and arrive in time. She talked Malcolm down, giving Neville a chance to flee. He ended up running towards the police, and Franklin arrested him.

Back at the river, Faith confessed that her feelings were genuine, but they couldn't change anything. At the end of the day, Malcolm was still a criminal. He finally surrendered, and Faith confessed that she loved him.

Later that night, Angie and Seth had a beautiful and moving impromptu wedding, with Franklin and a random stranger witnessing the ceremony. The next day, Trent checked in on Faith. She admitted that she was struggling to move on. Drawing from his experience with Angie, Trent assured her that she would move on with time and was happy for her. Faith asked him to stay, and they ended up sharing sandwiches.
