The seventh episode of Wonder Man begins with a flashback to Simon's father dropping him and Eric off at school. Mr. Williams notices that Simon is reluctant to attend due to the bullying he faces for being different. To instill confidence, he takes Simon to the movie theater to show him the Wonder Man film, reminding him that being different is a superpower not many possess.

Fast forward to the present, Simon is in his luxurious vanity van, getting ready for the filming of Wonder Man. He realizes that he has truly made it in Hollywood, as he is now receiving star treatment from the crew. Meanwhile, Trevor is getting fitted into his costume when Simon shows up.
Simon tries on the iconic glasses that Wonder Man wears and asks the designer to recreate the classic accessory used in the original superhero film. He discusses some dialogue changes with Von and the scriptwriter, trying to coerce Von into editing one line out. However, Von is more interested in rewriting the entire scene.
Trevor notices that things are getting out of hand and suggests an edit that both Simon and Von agree to. That night, Janelle takes Simon and Trevor to a team dinner where agents try to wrangle the two actors into signing more projects. Simon is excited about signing a lead role for a Netflix original, but Trevor urges him to wait until the release of Wonder Man.
Trevor claims that the success of Wonder Man could lead to bigger and better opportunities and urges Simon not to settle early in his journey. Janelle tries to persuade Simon to agree to the offer, but Simon backs Trevor's stance, claiming that he wants to continue doing what he loves rather than being a product for Hollywood.
Simon tells the team that he trusts Trevor blindly. Janelle informs the two men that a New York Times journalist, Kathy Friedman, is interested in creating a joint profile for Trevor and Simon to celebrate their journey and their friendship.
In his apartment, Simon confides in Trevor that Kathy would be more detrimental than beneficial due to his lack of Trevor's carefree and relaxed demeanor. He expresses his apprehensions about Kathy discovering his secret. Trevor pledges to support Simon during the interview.
The next day, Kathy meets Simon and is eerie and distant towards the actor. Simon tries to act unconcerned while Kathy shadows him. He tries to appear more amiable with the filming crew between takes. Trevor tries to help Simon out, but both actors are awkward around Kathy. Kathy inquires if Simon has any other friends she can interview besides Trevor and his ex, Vivian.
Simon panics, fearful of what Vivian said to Kathy, and rushes to her workplace to talk to her. The former couple has a chat where Vivian reveals that she did not mention his superpowers to Kathy. Simon talks about his new accomplishments, and Vivian tells Simon that she is proud of him. Vivian advises Simon to express his true feelings and build trust with those he loves.
The next day, Simon receives a call from his mother about the interview with Kathy. Simon wonders if she talked to the journalist about his superpowers. Mrs Williams reveals that Kathy also spoke to Eric. He panics and starts getting angry. Trevor tries to calm Simon down just as Kathy shows up for the interview.
During the interview, Simon brings up Eric and their complicated relationship with his brother. He is shocked to learn that Eric had nothing but good things to say about Simon. Kathy talks to Trevor about his return to LA and his connection with the DODC.
Simon is shocked to learn about Trevor's connection with the DODC as Trevor storms out of the room. He follows after Trevor and wonders if he is betraying him. Trevor finally comes clean to Simon and reveals that he was initially working with the DODC. Simon realizes that all the things Trevor did for him were driven by selfish motives.
Trevor asks Simon to give him another chance, but Simon leaves the vanity in a fit of rage. The episode ends with Simon entering the filming set, which ends up being destroyed in a blast from the energy he emits.
