Hunter and Tori are also present, but neither of them is happy to be there. They wish they were anywhere else rather than at this wake. Barney and Grace arrive late due to an unfortunate incident on the road.

Mel strikes up a conversation with Coop's mother about her hot flushes and her current dating situation, which provides some common ground for the two of them. However, Ali starts to spiral as the reality of what's happening hits her. She winds up smoking in her old room, sharing weed with Tori. When Mel heads upstairs, she sees what they're doing and decides to join in too. As Mel starts moaning about the dog next door, Tori scoffs and calls her unhinged.

Unfortunately, things take a bad turn downstairs when Owen Ashe arrives. Hunter and Delilah end up kissing upstairs while Ashe is sweet-talking Coop's mother. When she asks Ashe to take down the flat-screen TV they worked to put up several episodes ago, Coop is not happy. To rub salt in the wound, Ashe also has Ron's belt on too.

Coop is angry and eventually heads back inside to cool off. Upstairs, Coop starts looking through all the various gear his father has left behind. Downstairs, things wind up taking an awful turn when Coop returns. His mother has invited Bruce along, which causes Ali to fly off the handle. Mel inevitably gets involved, but Coop isn't particularly happy when he realizes she's got high with their daughter. The tension between the characters reaches new heights as they all grapple with their emotions in the aftermath of Coop's father's death.

Grace's condition deteriorates as she ends up vomiting on the table, while Coop decides to escape the house, opting for a drive to quell his grief. He eventually finds himself at the bowling alley, where he encounters Elaine Naft, a woman who was also present at the wake. It transpires that they used to be part of the same bowling team with Coop's father, meeting every Thursday despite the team's disbandment years ago. Both feeling lonely and seeking comfort, they found solace in each other, engaging in an affair that eased their pain. Apparently, Ron had feared that Coop would never find happiness in life. As they discuss contentment and the pursuit of happiness, Coop's life perspective undergoes a subtle scrutiny. That night, Mel resumes smoking weed, while Coop reflects on the times he went bowling with his father.

The narrative describes Grace's unfortunate situation with vivid detail, portraying her as a victim of her own misfortune. The depiction of Coop's emotional turmoil and his subsequent escape to the bowling alley adds depth to his character, highlighting his grief and the search for solace. The introduction of Elaine Naft and their shared history with Coop's father creates a sense of nostalgia and familiarity, while their affair serves as a reminder of the complexities of human emotions and the search for happiness. The subtle scrutiny of Coop's life perspective and the contrasting scenes of Mel smoking weed and Coop reminiscing about his childhood with his father add layers of depth and emotional resonance to the narrative.
